Chapter 2267: What I Hear May Be False, But What I See Must Be True

Each raindrop hit the barrier with a crisp sound. Before, the rain used to be a massive downpour with no seeming end. Tonight, the attacking Bloody Bats seemed to be gentler. After trying to prate the barrier for a while, they pped their wings and left instead.


    Every time the Blood Rain came, the citizens would naturally be more anxious. asionally, the rain of blood or the bats would fall through the cracked parts of the barrier and hit any unlucky ones.


    When the time came, all the troops would draw up in a battle array. Also, the here people would not get a good night sleep. They would go to bed fully dressed, so they could run if anything went wrong. To their surprise, the Blood Rain was rather mild tonight. Driven by a sudden sense of excitement, they were hopeful about the disappearance of the rain. Was the cmity about to be over? Would the rain grow milder and milder? Would it finally be gone for good?


    The people were starting to get tired of their confinement within a city. Also, fighting the beasts for survival was not the kind of life that they wanted. They wanted the peace that they used to have.


    Animatedly, the topic became widely discussed among the people. Gu Xijiu sat on a tree and started to drink wine from a bottle gourd. For some time now, she had been fairly upied. There was no time for her to rest, or to properly enjoy a drink. Getting drunk was not even an option. However, she needed to drink her sorrow down tonight.

    “I know,” Gu Xijiu answered briefly.


    “What is this about then?” The Firmament Stone felt that she was about to take sce in alcohol.


    Gu Xijiu took another sip of her drink before answering with a smile, “I have been looking for him for more than a year now. It is bing an obsession. You do know that my biggest concern has always been his safety. Now that I know that he is safe and well, is there any better news than this?”


    With the same smile, she added, “I have been worried for so long. Right now, I can finally ease my anxious heart.”


    The Firmament Stone did not know what to answer. It took some time before speaking, “Master, what the owner told you might not be entirely true. Perhaps, he only wanted to rent the room out to someone else, thus throwing out all of Di Fuyi’s belongings. He had to lie to you in order to escape your usation,” the Firmament Stone suggested. It sounded unsure, though.


    Gu Xijiu looked at it and said, “There is no reason for him to lie. Nevertheless, the search will eventually continue until I finally find him. What I hear may be false, but what I see must be true. I will finally rx when I see him well and alive.”


    The Firmament Stone heaved a sigh of relief. “Yes, what you hear may be false, but what you see must be true. Master, you should not let the misunderstanding continue. It is enough. Many rtionships are ruined because of misunderstandings, like how you used to…”


    It stopped abruptly before giving out a heavenly secret. Theplete sentence would be ‘like how you used to be separated for so long from Huang Tu due to some misunderstandings.’
