All of a sudden, he raised his handto release a disy of fireworks in the sky. “Everyone stay calm! Stay where you are and don’t move. If you move a little, you will get yourself killed!” The young pce master could be heard making the announcement. “The governor has something to say.”
Her words were effective in keeping everyone still. Moreover, all the secret guards in different parts of the square were told to keep the scene orderly. The chaos subsided in a brief moment, and the crowd turned their attention to the jade statue again that was still engulfed in mes.
Nothing seemed to have changed, however. The only noticeable difference was the increase in the number of guards equipped with shimmering armors that were fitted on their well-toned bodies. They stood in lines, surrounding both stages with the tightest security. No one could get close to the stage.
Obviously, Yun Yanli hade prepared. Not even a minute had passed before the order was restored in the entire Zhengde Square. Yun Yanli, whose arm was still clinging onto Kun Xueyi, swept his eyes across the people and said smilingly, “Do not panic. The residence was old and out of date. I have always wanted to destroy and rebuild it. Today is my wedding day, so I have to give my wife a new ce to call home. Therefore, it was I who called for the explosion. Old things have to go to make space for new beginnings.”
The crowd could only gaze at one another in astonishment. They never thought that the governor would blow up his own ce. They still found it quite hard to believe that he would do so himself.
“You have blown up your own residence because of a wedding. What news, governor!” Kun Xueyi mocked him.
Even though he managed to turn the situation around, Yun Yanli was not very pleased about it. He had prepared his troops,for he knew that the people from the Devil Kingdom would definitely take the chance to create a scene.The man believed that the security measures he had put in ce were strong enough to hold off an attack from a thousand devil troops. To his surprise, someone was still able to sneak in and blow up the ce.
Who could possibly be so powerful? How could he or she sneak into his residence without triggering any rm? There were many things that he kept in his ce. Among those things were the rare magical items that had collected over the years. He was sure that whoever had broken in would seize his prized possessions. Never had he thought he would lose all of the items at once.
The loss pained him, but he tried to keep a straight face. The fireworks were actually a sign for his guards to go and take a look at the explosion site. He took another look at ‘Gu Xijiu’ and thought that she would definitely be the one blowing up his ce if she had not been here, next to him.
Suddenly, he thought of another possible culprit. “Is it Kun Yunzhan? Has the mudfish sneaked into my ce?” He could not think of anyone else, as the Kun was the only one who was capable of causing the destruction.
Kun Xueyi squinted at him. “How can a governor be so uninformed? He is a Kun, not a mudfish. However, he is not the one who broke into the ce.”
“Who is it, then?”
“Try to guess.”
Yun Yanli smiled and said scornfully, “I am not interested in making any guesses. I only want to carry on with the wedding!” He threw a quick look to the north and added, “Right in front of him!” If the jade statue were really Di Fuyi, he would not be pleased by what he was about to see. And, that was exactly what Yun Yanli wanted.
Kun Xueyi looked at him casually and said, “It is fine if you are not bothered by the loss of your house, but what about the Star Formation that is buried underneath it? Shouldn’t you be worried that it will be exposed to the people?”
