Chapter 346 Anguss Arrival

But there remained whispers as no one dared to mention his name.

The absence of Angus had now been long noticed, and rumours began to circte about his sudden disappearance. His wife, Emerce, with her daughter, was now living out in her estate, outside of the Imperial capital.

It was like his whole family had been shunned by the other family members.

Jaegar''s innocence had been proved, but there was no response from the family, nor did they seem keen on uplifting his ban from the pce.

The news of Jaegar once again caused a rather mass spection of the barrier incident. If Jaegar wasn''t the one, then why did the ministry insist on Jaegar being the sole reason for the copse of the barrier? Why didn''t they do a proper investigation? All fingers were now pointed at the ministry.

Any news or articles involving the Imperial family were shut, not seeing the light. And no one dared to put the name of Gadfraye on their paper, saying against them.

The crown system had now be more or lesspetitive, and it had be obvious who came at the top.

ran, the eldest son of the emperor, had gained a lot of support and merit in the system and was likely to gain the title of crown prince.

Jaegar was stripped of his title of prince and wasn''t given a chance because of his warrant from the ministry at that time.

More importantly, the rumour of de Sovereign personally attending the trial had roused the attention of the pce officials. Especially those from the akraven stronghold were very keen on it.

Right now, an individual was flying towards the pce, followed by a dozen men. They were flying on theigurs. It was a sight that attracted quite the attention of the people below in the capital.

Thoserge hound-like dark creatures swarming in—an astonishing sight. The pce guards quickly recognised the hounds and made the signal.

The group made its way towards the open grounds behind the pce, nding there.

Afternding, the men got off the Laigurs. They were greeted by the pce guards.

Angus, who was at the front of the men, said as he removed the gloves, "Tend to the beasts; let them have a good meal."

Angus with his men then strode towards the doors, making their way inside.

The long corridors were filled with the soldiers dressed in iron armour, holding spears. They bowed while Angus passed, with a mixture of confusion and fear.

Angus was like unpredictable weather, sometimes calm and other times fierce. His reputation preceded him, instilling a sense of unease in those he encountered.

It had almost been four months since his absence from the pce. He wasst seen when he had in the orcs and ogre army. Though he couldn''t entirely kill them as some of them escaped. But he killed the chief, so they wouldn''t bother for a while.

Angus and his men were now standing in front of a chamber, and opposite him were the men in golden armour suits. Each had the aura of the master level, giving off a very strong vibe. Their long swords at their waists and their steely gaze locked onto the men who now arrived.

In front of them stood a man with more refined armour and a white cloak behind, with an imperial insignia on the right side of his armour.

These were the pce guardian knights called the Order of the Chryso.

Angus'' subordinate Rauf stepped ahead and said, in a serious tone, "What''s the meaning of this, Ser Neal?"

Ser Neal looked serene as he looked toward Angus, "My Prince, we were not notified of your arrival beforehand, so I must ask you to wait while we seek the emperor and inform his imperial highness of your arrival."

Rauf''s expression turned sour. From the time when Angus'' brother had ascended the throne, he had been treating Angus as if he were just like a soldier of some sort. From their past meetings too, Angus wasn''t getting the treatment a prince should get.

Rauf, who was a loyal subordinate of Angus, felt this like an insult to his lord. And his anger knows no bounds when someone obstructs Angus'' path.

Angus remained neutral, but Rauf wasn''t having any of it, "You can''t stop the Commander of the ckHound Legion."

Then he turned to Angus and kneeled before him, "My lord, say the word, and I will clear the path for you."

"Insolence!" Neale cried out, cing his hand on the sword''s hilt. He was ready to take action if Rauf stepped further. Neale and every other knight knew how powerful Angus was as a wizard, but their duty to the crown was more important than their lives. That was how much their loyalty to the emperor meant to them.

Rauf turned his gaze towards Neale, his tone dripping with disdain, "Ser Neale, it''s best if you mind your tongue."

Angus then raised his hand, gesturing for Rauf to stop. He smiled gently towards Neale. "My apologies; I have some urgent matters to discuss with the emperor. So, I had toe unnoticed."

Ser Neale''s expression turned grim, but he kept hisposure. A sweat dropped from his forehead as he was trying to hold himself together. No one noticed other than Rauf and Neale the sudden and very subtle change in the atmosphere, and it was focused on Neale and pressuring to crush him. But it wasn''t visible or outright pointed at him.

But Neale was sure who was responsible, and he dared not raise his voice to say that.

He cleared his throat and said, "My Prince, I thank you for your consideration." Then he showed him the way to the office chambers of the Emperor while he sent his men to notify the Emperor of Angus''s arrival.
