《Rebirth Of The Unwanted Wife》 Chapter 1 - One (Unedited) She''s back! That''s the first thing she thought after opening her eyes. She remembers this painful feeling, the feeling of being in pain physically and emotionally. She was hit by a car, had a miscarriage and was neglected by her husband. She will never forget this pain. She will never forget that while in coma her husband did not even set foot in the hospital where she was admitted but have the balls to send a divorce paper three days after she woke up. She clenched her fist. That scumbag! See how I will deal with you this time around. She tried getting up. Ouch! Dammit! She hates physical pain more than anything, just why in the world she needs to be reborn in this particular time. It could have been better if it was before she married that scumbag of a husband. She shook her head. Never mind! The door suddenly open and a woman at her fifties with a bit of white hair entered the room. "Miss," she said with an obvious worried expression. "Nanny Lynne," she whispered. The old woman hurried over to her side and helped her get up. She whispered another thank you. "Should I call the doctor? What are you feeling?" she asked after another. "Of course, of course!" after a while the old woman hand over the peeled oranges to her. She slowly picked one "That man ... " she saw the old woman turned her head to look at her "did he...." She trailed off. She knew, but somehow she still hoped that even just once, even just a minute he took some time to look at how she''s doing. The old woman looked at her with helplessness and sympathy can be seen in her eyes. "I know ..." she said softly and put the peeled orange on her mouth. "Do you know where my phone is, Nanny Lynne?" "It''s here." "Thank you!" she mouthed. She started scanning her phonebook to look for someone''s contact number. When she found it, she instantly dialed the number. It did not take long before a melodious voice greeted her. "Hey there blockhead!" the man on the other line said. "Hey yourself." She heard him chuckled. "How you doin''?, how''s married life?" "I was in a car accident." She uttered. "I''m flying to country A." he answered hurriedly. She smiled. She missed this feeling, the feeling of being cared by someone. She suddenly feels warm all over, when was the last time she felt this way? She can''t even remember. She was married with him for five years but she never saw him showing any concern for her, even after she miscarried. And to think that it was his baby too. She shook her head, she don''t have the spare time to think about all this. She lost her baby, yes, and someone has to take responsibility for it. "Don''t. I ... I am fine." "No you''re not." "Please, Dean," she heard him sigh. "I have a favor to ask." "Go for it." "I need a lawyer." "I''ll send you his contact. Are you sure you''re fine?" "Okay. Laters!" she hanged up. She held her phone tightly. If she was not mistaken, three days from now that scumbag will send her a divorce paper and before that happen she will give him a big surprise. Chapter 2 - Two (Unedited) "So how do you want to proceed?" There are two men wearing expensive suit talking in a very luxurious office located at the top of the tallest building at Country A. The guy behind the impressive table full of stacks of paper pinched the bridge of his nose indicating that he was having a headache. "I know you feel sorry for your wife but knowing who was behind the accident, would you still want to pursue the case?" the man in gray suit asked. Josh is starting to have headache. It''s true that he was not fond of his wife, but that accident killed his kid. He sighed. "Don''t tell anyone." With these three words, what happened on that day will be kept forever in just a thin file. Taki Taki, Taki Taki, Rumbah A lively tune disrupts the silence lingering on the room. "Sorry," the man in the gray suit said apologetically. He was informed by Dean that his friend will be calling him today to get ?ssistance for a lawsuit. Josh nods, signaling him to answer the call. Chris did not bother to go out and answer the call in front of his friend who is also his biggest client. "Hello, Chris Thompson speaking" "Hi," a very feminine voice greeted him. He was expecting a call from a man. Well, Dean did not inform him that his friend is a girl. "I''m sure Dean told you" "He did." He complimented the girl in his head. It was rare for a girl to be this direct. "He told me that you needed help for a hit and run case." "A divorce?" he was a little surprised. "Yes," she answered. "This is a s?ns?t?v? matter. Then should we talk about it on a cup of coffee?" "Not possible. I''m in the hospital ans there''s nothing s?ns?t?v? about it. I just want you to draft the usual divorce agreement. I don''t need anything from my scumbag husband. You can send the document thru my email." she bluntly stated. "Look .. Miss ...?" he trailed. They were already talking about drafting a divorce agreement but he did not even know her name. After hearing her name, his eyes widened and his mouth fell. "What did you say your name is?" he unconsciously yelled. Chapter 3 - Three (Unedited) "I said my name is Sophia Jamieson." She repeated. "You do know who your husband is, right?" the guy on the other line asked as if he thinks she is ridiculous. "I know him more than anyone else." "So you know that with his flocks of experts there is no way that you would win." "Who cares about winning, and I''m pretty sure he''d sign it right away. "I''ll say it up front, that man is a big shot and I am but a lawyer .. I .." "If you can''t then don''t." she cut him off. She knew more than anyone how powerful her husband is. He is the richest and the most influential man in Country A. He can crush anyone without even lifting a finger, but it was not like he won''t die. "Anyway, thank you for your time." She hanged up without waiting for the other person to respond. She deeply sighed. She thought lawyers are fearless but she thought wrong. She reached for her ??ptop and starts typing. Well, if she can''t find help from that lawyer then she just had to ask Mr. Google. What does Mr. Google doesn''t know? She keyed in "Gutsy Lawyer" Meanwhile ... Josh saw his friend staring at his phone as if he was possessed by some kind of spirit. "Problem?" he asked. Chris lifted the corner of his mouth forming a smile. "Well, do you know that your wife''s awake?" He shook his head lazily. He was sure that the moment she woke up and find that he did not visit her, she will surely call his grandfather and complain. Annoying! "And ...?" "Apparently, she wanted my ?ssistance for a divorce?" "What did you say?" Chapter 4 - Four (Unedited) Sophia already contacted hundreds of lawyers but no one is willing to help her. She heaved a sigh of frustration. Ugh! That damn bastard! It''s been four days and she''s now feeling helpless. "Damn him!" she yelled and throw some punch in the air. She then heard someone clear his throat thus she turned her neck to the direction of the sound. "About time, I guess." A man in a black suit stands at the doorway carrying a stack of folders. He slowly walked towards her bed, "Missus" he greeted. This guy is Leon; he is the right-hand man of the bastard Josh Jamieson. If she remembered correctly, the divorce paper should have been delivered three days after she woke up but for some reason it was delayed for a day. He handed over a stack of paper which she did not hesitate to grab. Her brows knitted the moment she started reading. "What the hell is this?" she said calmly. "Miss please calm down." Nanny Lynne worriedly rushed over to her side. "I know your boss is a Class A scumbag but what the hell is this?" The man in suit was shocked. Didn''t missus love the big boss so much, what''s with her calling the boss names now? "I''m not signing." she was expecting a divorce with at least twenty million dollars plus twelve properties as alimony. "Missus, the boss said that if you won''t sign it then you will end up with nothing." She smirked. "Really? Then please tell him that I''d like him to try." He sighed. The boss told him that if he can''t make her sign the paper then he can forget going back. "Missus, I know that you love the boss but this marriage is not healthy for the both of you anymore. The boss loves someone else and with your continuous refusal to sign the divorce is making that person dissatisfied." Love someone else. She knew that but it still hurt hearing it from another person. She breathes in. "Your words or his words?" she asked. "I did love him, but that''s not the reason I''m not signing the divorce." I hand over the paper to Leon "Those terms are a total rip off. It was as if I''m married to a regular employee of Sky High Empire. I want 20 million dollars to my account, the house at Orchard and Imperial City, the villa at Hampton, BMW, Volvo, Mustang, and unlimited access to Jamieson Mansion to visit grandpa." "I-I''ll call the boss" he stammered. "I''ll wait." The main in suit hurriedly dialed his boss. "Hello," an irritable voice greeted on the other line. "The Missus..." "I told you, didn''t I? Make her sign or lose your job." "I.. I know but the missus doesn''t like the terms" "What did you say?" he was utterly shocked. He thought that she will at least put up some resistance knowing how obsess she is to him. He remembered how she would cling to him wherever he goes. She was like a leech that sucks all the embarrassment out of him because she would always ends up fighting with another female due to her jealousy. "I''m fine with everything, except the villa." He said which was instantly relayed by the person on the other line. "Sir... " "What did she say?" "Missus says that if you won''t go with her terms then you can just forget the divorce." Chapter 5 - Five (Unedited) This woman! She very well knew that he can''t give up that villa because it was build solely for Charlene. He personally designed the villa when he was in college to give it to his beloved as a wedding gift. But it did not happened because of her, and now she had the balls to ask for villa. In her dreams. "There is no way that I will give the villa, not to her or anyone else." he said in a final tone. "Then you can say goodbye to your future wedding plans" a sweet voice entered his ears "because I won''t sign this paper and your beloved girl will be a mistress forever" For some reason he felt a tinge of warmth after hearing her voice. It''s been what? Three months since he last heard her talk. "Sign it, I''ll just buy you another villa." She was silent for a moment. "Then why don''t you just buy a new villa for the two of you?" "You know exactly why. And why are you so hang up with the villa anyway? It was build for someone else not yours." she did not respond. "just how shameless can you get?" He heard her chuckled mockingly. "Between the two of us, I wonder who''s more shameless. Me, who want to keep the villa to keep my kid''s memory or you, who despite knowing who was behind his kid''s death still wanted to give the villa to that person?" he was suddenly astonished. Nobody knows what happened that day except for him and Chris, and there is no way that Chris will rat him out. "You don''t really believe that I am so stupid not to know, right?" "Sophie ..." he heaved. "Sir." It was Leon. "Give the phone to her." "She was being checked by a doctor." "Then get back here." "Yes sir." The man in suit let out a sigh of relief, at the very least he won''t have to think of retirement yet. He looked at the direction of the woman who was just talking to his boss. She changed, she changed a lot. He remembered that she will always distort her voice to sound sweet whenever she''s talking to his boss, but today she sounded like a strict grade school teacher who won''t let the naughty boys go without a scratch. He shook his head lightly, actually he greatly sympathize with the Missus because she knew that her husband love somebody else. He sighed. Chapter 6 - Six (Unedited) She will be discharge today and whether he likes it or not, she will be go back at the villa. At the place she once called home. "Ready?" Nanny Lynne asked. I smiled. "Yep!" They then started walking out of the hospital. It took at least an hour before they were able to reach the villa. It was a luxurious two-story villa that is surrounded with pleasing greenery. The surrounding gives a warm and serene vibe. She frowned when she noticed that none of the maids not even the butler welcome them back. She slowly walk towards the door. "It seems like this house needs new set of helpers." she said calmly but loud enough to be heard by the nearby maid. They hurriedly walk over and offered their ?ssistance. "No thank you, we can manage. Besides, I don''t want to disturb your work." she said sarcastically that left the maids with red faces. She opened the door of the master bedroom and made her way to the walk in closet that is filled with their clothes. She touched the set of maternity clothes she bought in preparation to her pregnancy. Dumpling, I hope you''re doing fine wherever you are. "Nanny Lynne," she called out. The hurriedly come over "Yes Miss?" "Please move all my clothes to the guest room." she said. "Leave it to me." "Thank you!" she smiled anf left the room. Meanwhile. The butler called informing him that his wife is back at the villa. Between the two of us, I wonder who''s more shameless. Me, who want to keep the villa to keep my kid''s memory or you, who despite knowing who was behind his kid''s death still wanted to give the villa to that person? "What''s happening?" "I''m moving my things to the guest room." He heard answered. He turned and saw his wife. Pale face, thin neck and watery eyes, she looks rather pitiful. "Please go on, Nanny Lynne." "Why?" "Because I am." she said. "Let''s have a talk." "Are you willing to give me this villa then?" "Sophie,..." he muttered. "Don''t call me Sophie and if Mr. Jamieson is still unwilling to give me the villa, then I don''t think there''s anything else to talk about." she turned and was about to leave. "When I say we talk, we''ll talk and when I say you go, you''ll go." "S-sir.... " Leon stammered, scared of his boss current mood. He had seen him angry multiple times and he also knew what happened to those people who angered him. "What?" he yelled. "M-miss Johnson is on the line." "Tell her, I''m busy." "No he''s not." she simply stated. "Go put Miss Johnson on line three." she instructed Leon then made her way to her room. "S-O-P-H-I-A!!!" Chapter 7 - Seven (Unedited) The next morning. She woke up early deciding to find a job. She needs money to survive, people used to mock her because she''s jobless and it didn''t bother her as she was already occupied spying at her husband every single day. She used to swallow everything but not anymore. Life has given her another chance thus this time she will live to the fullest. She energetically hums while getting ready. She then enthusiastically opened her wardrobe only to find old fashion clothes hanging on it. She sighed. She was told that the scumbag liked conservative woman thus she bought a lot of old fashion clothes that almost cover everything. She believed it until she saw him making out with his childhood friend who happens to be the finance manager of his company. Charlene is a very stunning woman. She always carried herself with grace and elegance. After that scene she started to have inferiority complex leading to he paranoia and madness. She shook her head. She doesn''t care anymore. She took out a red polo-type dress and grab a pair of scissor. She cut the hem of the dress until it was short enough to reach above her knees. She paired it with a white high-heeled shoes and pearl earrings. She checked herself in the mirror. "Hmm... something''s lacking here ..." she looked around and saw a pair of white ribbons. "Gotcha!" She tied it around her waist. "Good.. very good." She''s almost ready when she remembered that she don''t have any money, not even a single cent. "Bad... very bad!" "Something wrong?" he asked not bothering to look at her. "Lend me ten dollars" He lifted his brows. He put the newspaper down and look up to his wife. She was wearing alight make up which is unusual as she loves putting heavy make up and she''s wearing a very short dress that shows her long flawless pair of legs. There''s no denying it, Sophie is indeed a very beautiful women. With her palm-size face, round watery eyes, small upturned nose and small red lips, even without any make up she still stand out. The only reason she can''t attract him is because of her audacious attitude and inelegant manners. He can''t point it out but there''s something unusual about his wife ever since she woke up from coma. "For what?" "Fare." "And you''re going...?" "To find a job." He knitted his brow. Isn''t she''s busy enough in spying on me? And why the heck does she need a job? This doesn''t feel right at all. "Are you serious?" she said in an incredulous tone. "You don''t need a job" "I do." "Are the maids starving you?" he asked in an angry tone that made everyone shake in fright. She rolled her eyes. "They don''t. I just want a job. That''s all" "Then work at Sky." "No!" He immediately raised his brow "Why?" "Should I state something obvious? Do you really want me to work with the person who killed my child?" "No!" "Why?" "Because you also killed my child." He did not respond and silence lingered at the entire dining area, even the servants are afraid to make any sounds. She hit him hard. The truth is, he wanted to keep the child, whether she believes it or not, he really do. He even broke up with Charlene to start a new life with her and their child. He just didn''t expect that the woman whom he trusted ever since would betray him and killed his child. He did not want him to die but he can''t blame Charlene as well. It was his selfishness that drove her to the edge. "If you can''t lend it to me, I''ll just ask Nanny Lynne then. Stingy old man!" He grabbed her right arm, opened his wallet and hand over a hundred dollar. She snatched it from him and walk away. Chapter 8 - Eight (Unedited) "Hah!" she exhaled. Sophie wiped the invisible sweat in her forehead. She didn''t know that finding a job is a difficult job itself. She had been a spoiled princess since she was a child thus she didn''t know the rality of life outside their house is. "Should I go home then?" she told herself feeling a bit down. She can feel her stomach grumbling from hunger. She rubbed her belly lightly, "Just a little bit." She was about to hail a cab when she noticed a WANTED poster at a small coffee shop and a bright idea pops up at her head. "It''s about time." She made her way to the coffee shop. When she opened the door the aroma of coffee being brewed slowly attack her nostril. She loves coffee, she once dreamt of building the biggest coffee shop in the world. She plans to have at least three branches in every country and innovate many different types of coffee mixes. What happened in her dream? Well, Josh happened. "Good morning, welcome to City Blends." the girl at the counter greeted her with a bright smile. "Hi, I saw your wanted ad" "Oh! Sir David" she called someone at the back. "She wants the job!" "Really?" he asked and Sophie nods as a response. "Well," he untied his apron and placed it on a small table "come." he said. He led me to a small corner of the shop and asked for my resume. He took his time reading it. "Hmmm," he said whiled rubbing his chin "you did not finish college?" "I got married." His brows raised as if he did not believe her. "I see. Well, Tina the girl at the front will be leaving by next week so I really need someone who can replace her. Since you have enough background in coffee I guess we''ll give it a try." She smiled brightly which made the heart of the guy in front of her flutter a bit. "When can I start?" she asked enthusiastically "You can start tomorrow, so that Tina can give you the round about of the business." "Then I guess, we''ll see each other tomorrow then," he said while offering his hand. She gladly took it and shook it rather excitedly which made the man chuckled. At home She sneakily went to the kitchen to find Nanny Lynne who is currently busy making dinner. She hugged her from behind which made the old woman squealed a little. She cackled. "Guess what?" "What?" "I finally found a job!" she stated excitedly. "Miss, are you serious in doing this thing?" the old woman asked seriously. She simply nodded. She knew that Nanny Lynne is worried. It''s a given thing, she has been taking caring of her since she was a kid and she knew more than anyone else what Sophie can do and cannot do. The old woman raised her hand and patted her head lightly as if encouraging her to be strong. "Then live the life you want." she said in a smile. She was touched, really touched it was a moment where you''ll feel warmth in your heart but suddenly her stomaching made a growling sound. She''s hungry. "But don''t forget to eat as well." the old woman reminded while chuckling. "Roger that." Chapter 9 - Nine (Unedited) There was a man standing just outside where the two woman was talking. Did she just call me scumbag? This woman! Josh realized that even after five years of marriage he didn''t really know Sophie well. He had been reluctant on marrying her thus his grandpa used a unscrupulous way to make him do it and because of that he hated Sophie so much. He did not try to get to know her and complete ignore her after the wedding. How did she got pregnant? Well, that''s a long story but to make it short the old man did another unscrupulous way to make him do it. He evilly made a servant mixed an aphrodisiac to their meal and voila, she announced she''s pregnant the very next month. He was lost in his own thought when he realized that the two women at the room already noticed his presence. He cleared his throat. "I''m preparing dinner for the miss, would you like me to make one for you as well Sir?" the older woman inquired. Well he''s quite hungry so he might as well eat dinner. He was about to agree when he heard the his wife said no. He frowned. "Don''t busy yourself with his dinner Nanny, I''m sure he''ll be having his dinner outside per usual." Right. He never ate his dinner at home. He would always spend his night with Charlene and would always reluctantly go back at the villa. "In five, four," the woman started counting "three, two, one" "Sir," his right hand man Leon called out "Miss Johnson is on the line" then he hand over the phone to him. He gave Sophie a look before greeting the person on the other line. Hmp! He really had the balls to talk to that woman in front of me. This man is really really despicable. She suddenly have an idea. "Honey, do you want your steak with pasta or rice?" she said in a very sweet voice but loud enough for the person on the other line to hear. The man glared at her telling her to stop her drama, she just raised her left brows as a response. "Look, she''s just-" she heard the man said But before he could finished, she stands from her seat and walk towards her husband''s side, she lifted his chin then lowered her head to kiss her husband. She gave her a sloppy kiss and intentionally m??n?d loudly to make sure that the other woman heard it. When she heard Charlene yelled Josh''s name, she let go of him and walk out of the dining area. Chapter 10 - Ten (Unedited) "This cabinet contains the spices that we mixed to teas and coffees depending on the customer''s order. We have here rose, anise, saffron, ginseng and so on." This is her first day and Tina, who will be leaving the shop next week, is giving her an orientation. She is not a genius and even though she was reborn she don''t have a heaven defying ability like the ones she read on books, thus she write notebook every single thing in her small notebook. "Do you wanna take a break first?" Tina asked. "I''m all good." but then again my traitor stomach grumbled. Tina smiled. "Its fine to be hardworking but you also need to eat. Come I''ll prepare a sandwich for you." She shyly followed her and lightly punch her belly. "To tell you frankly, you don''t look like you needed money." She was currently munching on her three-layered sandwich when the question was brought up. She raised her head to look at Tina who is now staring at her curiously. "On the contrary, I do." she answered. "I don''t have my own money but I know I''m pretty so I can''t really blame you for thinking like that." The woman in front of her cackled. "You sure is a narcissist." "You are, you are." she nods as if she''s trying to pacify a child. They''ve been chatting for a while when the bell at the door chimed signalling that there was an incoming customer. "Greeting from Cit-" Sophia was not able to finish her greeting when she saw the person who came in. "well, well, well ... " the woman wearing a bergundy dress said in a micking tone. "What a coincidence!" She gulped. This woman is Renee Travenski, she is the very best friend of the woman who killed her child. Just like how every supporting character in a novel, this best friend is also very supportive and protective towards the female lead. She remembered when she screamed shamelessly at Charlene calling her names and what not, this best friend grabbed her hair and dragged her out of the boutique without caring about her well being. She saw the evil woman smirked. "The apron really suits you. A cheap apron for a cheap woman." She doesn''t have any intention to respond at the evil woman''s provocation. She smiled sweetly instead which received several admiring glances from the young boys. Renee blinked. She can''t believe that the woman in front of her is the same Sophia Jamieson. She now improved her acting skill, huh! "Who am I to pass up an opportunity to be serve by the unwanted wife of Josh Jamieson. Of course I''ll sip in." Tina heard the woman said the name of Sophie''s husband and for a moment she was truly shocked. Didn''t she said that she needed money, but why on Earth would the wife of the richest man in Country A needs money? She looked at Sophie''s pale face with an obvious forced smile. "Then please have your seat, I''ll bring in your order." The evil woman did not say another and walk towards table 5. She smirked. When she turned to prepare the order she saw Tina staring at her. She sighed. She knew that look, everyone look at her like that. As if she was lowly person that they can judge, as if she committed the greatest sin in forcing a marriage to a man who doesn''t love her. "My husband doesn''t want me." she simply said. "So the rumor says." "Yeah, he''s a grown up man so he should have not abandoned you and left you to fend for yourself." She heard Tina said, which made her stilled momentarily. For the first time in her life, someone else, except for Nanny Lynne, is speaking for her. She can''t help but watered her eyes. "Are you crying?" She quickly wiped her eyes. "I''m not." "No matter what stinky method you used in marrying him, you''re still his responsibility. To think that I really admired that person." she shook her head in disappointment. "Hurry and served the order to the princess or you''ll ne greatly scolded." Sophie nodded and head off to table 5 with the ordered goods on her hand. "Here''s your order." then she slowly put the coffee on the table. After placing the cup on the table, the evil woman "accidentally" pulled the table cloth which made the cup fell towards her, spilling the hot coffee all over her uniform, scalding a part of her belly and legs. The cup made a loud thump earning the attention of the people around them. This vile woman!. Chapter 11 - Eleven (Unedited) This evil woman! She bent to pick up the broken glasses and slowly put the shards on the tray, then her elbow "accidentally" hit the table''s leg causing it to slipped and fell towards Renee. "Ahhh... " the woman screamed. "Oh! I''m so sorry!" Sophie said imitating Renee''s tone from earlier. "Is this how your cafe treat customers?" she yelled. Tina hurried over and apologized to the woman. She also slightly pinched Sophie''s waist. The woman vented for a whole three minutes non-stop and walked out of the cafe angrily. The students sitting at table three giggled. But amidst of the commotion, there was a man sitting at the corner of the cafe watching the whole scene while sipping his coffee. He glanced at the woman''s hands which are lightly ??r?ssing her th??hs. Of course it''ll hurt. It was after all a hot coffee. At the Sky Empire Building "Guess what!!" a man in a blue suit said in a very excited tone just like a kid finding the most interesting tone at the mall. "I just - Oh!" he wasn''t able to continue his sentence as he saw his brother talking to his mistress. Yes his mistress. It''s true that he was not fond of his sister-in-law but it doesn''t mean that he likes his brother''s other woman. Sophie is timid and a fool and super obsess with his brother but she is a good woman. She always check up on him, helped him with home works, and sneakily put packed lunch on his bag even though he said he hates it. Whereas Charlene, she just love his brother or his money, she doesn''t care about anything else. And she''s having an affair with a married man whatever the circumstances is. He sighed. "Hi," he smiled at Charlene hiding his dislike. "I can just comeback if you''re busy" he turned and was about to go out when a man wearing red shirt and faded pants burst into the room and run towards his brother pushing Charlene to the side. "I saw sister-in-law" it was their second brother, Neil. Unlike Kyle and Josh who are cold and aloof, Neil is very lively and energetic, the kind of person who you''d want to hang out with all the time. He loves going on adventures and rarely comes home. He also doesn''t like Charlene but unlike Kyle, he shows it openly. "Hi Neil," Charlene greeted trying to hide her annoyance. Neil only glance at her. He turned his head back to his brother, "sister-in-law is super cool!!!" he said excitedly. "You came back after three moths just for that?" Neil pouted and put his hands on his side pockets. He walked towards the floor to ceiling window and gazed towards the other buildings standing below Sky Empire. "You''re sitting at the top of the tallest building in County A flirting with a beautiful woman while your wife is working at a cafe with scalded th??h. You''re living rather well, brother." Kyle can hear sympathy in Neil''s voice. He''s the closest to Sophie that''s why it''s not a surprise at all. When he was hospitalized, Sophie was the only one who''s with him. She did not left his side and patiently took care of him. She did not lose her patience and stayed with him through all those therapy sessions that enable him to walk again. She was with him when he was at his weakest and shared his happiness when he took his first step. "I don''t care if want to divorce her, just tell your girlfriend to tell her friend to stay away from Sophie." "I don''t want you to tell me what to do with my wife." "If so, then make sure you know who your wife is first." he said then glared at Charlene. She flinched, chills suddenly run through her spine. They said Neil is the happy-go-lucky among the three but what people should know is that the same blood still runs through his veins. "By the way bro," he said seriously then extend his hand palms up "I need allowance." "After saying all those things ... " Josh said. "Why?" he pouted. "It''s your fault! Her pretty legs must have had red marks by now because of the scalding. Hmp!" "Work with Kyle for the acquisition of Fonde Corporation." "What?!!" "You want allowance? You work for it. Even your sister-in-law is working." "Kyle, grab this brother of yours. I want the proposal within a week. If not, I''ll send both of you to Georgia." "Yes sir!" the two said at the same time then hurriedly walk out of the room. "Go home, Charlie. Let''s talk some other time." he said. "Josh, -" "Please, I''m already dealing with a lot of things. Go home. We''ll talk later." "Fine." she stomped angrily out of his office. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number. "Bring me a burn gel." Chapter 12 - Twelve Sophie bear the pain from the burn her whole shift and kept it from Tina. She already made a scene on her first day because of the evil woman so she don''t want them to send her to the hospital because of a simple burn. She slowly took off her pants. She stared at her legs that was red from the burns and pat it lightly. "You did well." she praised. "Even if you praised it like that, the burn marks won''t go away." She snapped her head towards the direction of the voice and saw a tall man leaning sideways at the doorjamb with his arms crossed. "None of your business." she retorted. The man slowly made his way towards her and crouch in front of her who is now currently sitting at the tub. He gabbed her foot and placed it on his knee. He took out a small container and opened it. He scooped a small amount of gel and gently rubbed it on the red marks. It felt cool on the skin. "What are you doing?" "Tending." "I know. Why are you doing this?" "Neil said you were scalded." Ah, so it''s Neil. "You can just leave the gel, I''ll do it myself." He did not respond and just continue his "tending" "Stop wiggling! Or i''ll be tempted to do something else." he warned. She suddenly remembered that she''s only wearing a pair of p?nt??s. Heat started flowing in her vein and in a just a second her face is scorching hot. "Are you not finished yet?" "Almost." His tanned long fingers moving in a circling motion against her snow white leg is hypnotizing. It felt nice actually, she shook her head. Now is not the time to think like this. "Grandpa will be visiting tomorrow." "I see. I''ll prepare the dishes he likes." "How about the dishes I like?" he asked. "Ask Miss Johnson to prepare it for you." she got up, grabbed a towel then covered herself. "Once you give up this villa, she''ll be your wife soon." "I''m not giving up this villa yet so you''re still my wife." She glared at him. She was about to walk out of the bathroom when he extend his arms across the door trapping her inside. "How about that steak, honey?" he said mimicking her words when Charlene called yesterday. "If you go shopping with me." she retorted. His face stiffened. What Josh hates the most is going to the grocery with a woman. He accompanied his mom once and it took them three hours to finish shopping, he was utterly tired. "Can I bring Leon?" "Nope," she shook her head. "Will it take us three hours?" "Depends." "Fine.," She saw the helplessness in his face and she finds it really amusing. His usual cold face that can make a person pee on their pants looks really adorable. Five years in marriage and this is the first time she saw this kind of face from him. Jealousy. She felt a pang of jealousy towards Charlene. Unlike her, she can see all kinds of emotion from his face. She unconsciously extended her arms and touched his face. "I''m .. I''m jealous." He knitted his brows. "Of Charlene." she said softly. She brushed his arms and walked out of the bathroom. "Pick me up at four." Josh stared at the door where she entered. Guilt. That''s what he''s feeling right now. He ignored her for five years but she always have a bright smile to give whenever he''s home. She cooked dinner and waited for him until the dishes were cold. She always fell asleep on the sofa waiting for him to come home safely. She packed him warm clothes during winter and iron his suit all by herself. He regretted it. He wanted to do something for her. Chapter 13 - Thirteen (Unedited) David has been away for three days due to family emergency and he''s curious as to how the two ladies he left at the cafe were doing. He slowly pushed the door and was utterly shocked when he saw the long lines at the counter. Just when their caf¨¦ did became this popular? "Sophie is soo pretty.." he heard the man wearing a school uniform whispered to the man at his back who nodded continuously at the other''s statement. Pretty? Hm! Sure Sophie is indeed pretty. He was a bit baffled when he first saw her. He thought that she''s more of a model material than a caf¨¦ attendant. She has the brownest eyes he''d ever seen, whenever she smiled it lit up like a those little star sparkling amidst the dark sky. Her eyelashes were velvety against her glossy milky skin. She also has a tempting heart-shaped red lips that looks like an open invitation to men whenever she smile or pout. And how could he forget the luscious captivating body of hers that even a grown man like him would give a second look. "Boss" Tina greeted him which made him ?r??n?d. "Something wrong?" "Nope," he shook his head. "You''re still more beautiful than Sophie." He said and walked towards his office which was located at the left corner of the caf¨¦. Tina knitted her brows wondering what the perverted man is thinking. *** "Haaaa¡" Sophie ?r??n?d stretching her hands above her head. Tina placed a cup of tea in front of her. "Drink it. It''ll help soothe your muscles." She muttered a thanks and start sipping the tea. "There sure are a lot of customers today." Tina said. She nodded. "Is it usually like this?" "What are you saying!" she (Sophie) giggled. She then noticed a familiar black BMW parked outside the caf¨¦. She looked at her watched. 04:30 PM. Uh-oh! She told Josh to pick her up at four. Dis he actually wait that long? "I need to go. The husband is outside." She informed Tina who glanced outside the caf¨¦. "Go!" she (Tina) thought that Sophie and the big fish is in a rocky marriage but aren''t all married couples like that. *** She halted her steps and stared at the car''s tinted window. Where should she sit though? Should she sit at the passenger seat with the scumbag or should she sit beside Leon on the driver seat. She unconsciously puffed her cheeks. The window at the back seat slowly rolled down. "Get in!" the man''s smooth baritone voice resonated from inside the car. Chill run down her spine and goosebumps appeared on her arms. His voice was clear and calm but at the same time warm and gracious. It was one of the many things that attracted her the most. She gulped. She extended her hands towards the door handle and opened the driver seat. "What are you doing?" "I''m thinking that you might wanna be alone at the back?" she said in an unsure tone. "Get in here." "How''s your day?" Josh asked. She glanced at him with wide eyes as if she a ghost inside the car. She slowly raised her right hand and feels his forehead. "What?" he asked. "You don''t have fever though. Are you perhaps possessed by a supernatural being?" He smirked. She peeked at the man beside her. She saw him raising his right hand and loosens his tie. She lightly gulped; this is the moment when she thinks men are the s?xiest. She can see the vein popping out on his arms and the up & down movement of his Adam''s apple. She noticed that he also unbuttoned his polo and revealed his clavicle. Ugh! People think that only women have beautiful clavicles, but that''s where they are entirely wrong. Josh definitely has a gorgeous clavicle that accentuates his hardened ?h?st muscles. "Seen enough?" he said with a smirked on his lips. Her eyes widened. Is she that obvious? "I can still unbutton some more if you want to." He teased. "Hnmp!'' she sneered and looked away. Chapter 14 - Fourteen (Unedited) Josh grabbed a push cart and walk beside Sophie who is currently picking some veggies. "Anything you want me to add?" she asked. "I''m good." She noticed that all the women around them are sneaking glances at the man walking beside her. Some bold young girls are even whispering and giggling with each other. She sneaks a peek at him. He seemed oblivious to all the admiring eyes around them. "Is she his girlfriend?" she heard someone whispered. "Don''t think so. She might be a PA?" What? Did they say she''s a PA? Just what part of her looks like a PA? This women! "Agree! Look at her attire. She''s definitely a PA." someone whispered. What? What''s wrong with her attire? She looked at her reflection. She''s wearing a faded denim skirt partnered with white V-neck plain t-shirt. Ugh! She sighed. Definitely PA-ish. Once she received her pay out she will definitely restock her wardrobe. But for now ¡ "Honey," she called, intentionally making her voice sounds sweet like a toddler, while wrapping her hands around his arms. "Do you want me to cook your favorite pasta?" The man just smiled and nodded his head. She slightly squeezed his biceps. Hmmm. So hard. She smiled and lean her head on his arms. Since he''s a scumbag who ignored her for five years might as well ripped some benefits out of this. "Smaller?" "Smaller you know!" "I don''t know." he said in a confused tone. "Smaller .." she hesitated for a moment "penis" she whispered in a very low voice that only the two of them can hear. Sometimes she really wants to stab her mouth for saying the most random things. She is blushing profusely. "Don''t you think that you know better than anyone if Josh Junior is small or not?" This man! She lightly punch his arms. Of course she knew. How could she not? He gave her a very traumatic first time. *** Josh carried all the shopping bags to the kitchen and help Sophie to prepare dinner. "Can you please wash the lettuce?" "Sure." "Can you grab the pepper at the blue cabinet?" "Okice." After handing the pepper, he secretly studied his wife. She is wearing a cute pinkish apron tied around her waist and holding a wooden spatula. Her black long hair was up in a messy bun showing her slim neck that''s currently glowing with sweat. For some reason he felt warmth in his heart. When was the last time he saw a woman cooking? Charlene was raised as a Johnson Heiress that''s why she may know how to manage a company but she doesn''t know how to cook or do any house chores. When they''re together they either eat out or order delivery. He grabbed a towel and gently wipe the sweat trickling at his wife''s forehead. He felt the woman stiffened for a moment. "Should we give this marriage a chance?" he blurted unconsciously. "Hiya!" an energetic voice suddenly came from the kitchen entrance. Chapter 15 - Fifteen (Unedited) "Grandpa!" she called out energetically and run towards the old man''s open arms. She gently rubbed her forehead on the man''s ?h?st which made the man chuckled. "How is my favorite granddaughter-in-law?" She pouted "But you don''t have any other granddaughter-in-law" "That''s why you''re my favorite." She puffed her cheeks as a sign of complain. "I just heard that you were on an accident. I only took off for two weeks and someone had already forgot that he has a grandfather that must be notified about this." He said. "You''re off shore and we cannot contact you." The old man raised his right hand and spat an invisible fly. "Wah! So many flies here." Josh rolled his eyes to his grandfather''s antics while his wife giggled like a high school girl. "I cooked your favorites. So go and sit, I''ll serve dinner." "This is what I mean when I said you''re my favorite granddaughter-in-law." He made his way out of the kitchen and completely ignored his grandson. "Forget about the villa, grandpa will never let us get a divorce." He stated in a-matter-of-factly tone then made his way to the dining area as well after giving the servants instructions to help her. *** "So, how''s your health?" the Oldman inquired. "I''m doing just fine." Sophie answered. Grandpa Joe is the reason behind their marriage. It is true that she''d been crazy in love with Josh but there''s no way she can force him to marry her thus she appealed to the old man to help her. Thinking about those times made her heart ache. If only she was a bit sensible then this wouldn''t have happened. Both of them stilled. If there''s one person who would disagree with the divorce, it would be their grandfather. "If you want it then I won''t interfere." Their eyes widened "but I have one condition." Josh calmly reached the glass and sip water while she tightly clenched the hem of her shirt. He is still his grandson so she''s already expecting that sooner or later he will concede with Josh''s request. "Please say it." Josh said. "Three months. I want the two of you to live like a real couple for three months."
