《The Arranged Marriage》


 Chapter 1 - Honeymoon

    Zhang Lihua sat on the family size bed in the Master''s bedroom browsing through her phone. This was the first night of her marriage.


    Her family''s business was going through severe problems and her parents begged her to marry Li Cheng, who was one of the richest business men in Beijing. She was the last daughter and she was treated like a princess in her family''s house. She never liked the idea of her getting married to someone she knew nothing about but she was ready to do anything for her family. After several pleas from her parents, she agreed to marry Li Cheng. She didn''t mind much because she had plans of divorcing him once her family''s business was stable.


    As for Li Cheng, he was popular and he lived a life of luxury. Every girl in Beijing was dying to be close to him. He had loved Zhang Lihua since the first day he saw her at his family''s house but he has never mentioned it to anybody. He had a cold personality so he found it difficult to tell people how he felt.


    The door to the bathroom opened and Li Cheng came out with a towel round his waist, his hair was wet and his skin glowed like that of a child. Zhang Lihua raised her head slightly, she stared at the man in front of her without saying anything. Li Cheng went into the dressing room and changed into his pyjamas. He walked out of the dressing room and saw Zhang Lihua sitting in the same position she was when he came out from the bathroom. She was still browsing through her phone.


    Li Cheng asked her expressionlessly "aren''t u going to take a shower?"


    Zhang Lihua heard him but she didn''t respond. She just kept going through her phone. Li Cheng ?ssumed that she didn''t want him to see her because she was going to feel uncomfortable. He stared at her for some time and left the room.


    Zhang Lihua stopped pressing her phone and stared at the door.


    Why does he even care if I have a shower or not, thank God he left the room


    She dropped her phone and went into the dressing room. Lihua had a problem with trusting men because of what she went through some years ago.

 Chapter 2 - Flashback

    Six years ago, she was in a relationship with Liu Qiang.


    Liu Qiang was from an influential family and his family''s business was one of the biggest in Beijing. He was handsome, he was also one of those guys that every girl dreamt of dating.


    Liu Qiang and Zhang Lihua met when they where in high school. They had bumped into each other in the library and he helped Lihua pick up her books. After that day, they became good friends. He defended her when she was bullied, bought her snacks when she was hungry, kept her company when she was bored and helped her with her difficult ?ssignments. She was the envy of every girl in school.


    She started developing feelings for him slowly and she felt he also had feelings for her. She confessed to him and he asked her to date him. That was how their relationship started. It was a wonderful feeling she felt. She told her best friends Yang Huan and Zhao Biyu about her relationship with Liu Qiang. Little did she know that she had made a very big mistake.


    Zhao Biyu had a crush on Liu Qiang and when she heard that Lihua was dating him, she vowed to do everything within her power to get him back.


    Zhang Lihua worked hard to get into the same university as Liu Qiang but she couldn''t make it. It was only Zhao Biyu that managed to get into the same university with him. Yang Huan and Zhang Lihua went to the same university.


    After spending four years in the university studying modeling and fashion designing, she graduated and realized that Liu Qiang had traveled to the states to further his education. She was sad. When she heard that he would soon be coming back, she was so happy.


    On the day he returned, she personally went to pick him up from the airport and she saw Zhao Biyu with him. She ?ssumed that they met on the plane because Zhao Biyu had also traveled to the states to further her education.


    The next day, she visited Liu Qiang in his apartment and he gave her the shocking news that he was already engaged to her best friend Zhao Biyu and they had been planning their marriage from the states.


    She felt betrayed and like a toy that was been used. She loved Liu Qiang with her whole heart, she was ready to do anything for him. She cried her eyes out that day. She was sick for days and Yuan Huan took care of her.


    After her experience with Liu Qiang, she didn''t get into any relationship and she had problems with trusting men.

 Chapter 3 - Lady Boss

    Zhang Lihua sighed deeply as she used the hair dryer in drying her hair, she didn''t want to remember her past again.


    She wore a girly pyjamas. She walked out of the bedroom and realized that the study room lights were switched on.


    When she walked into the living room, Madam Zhu told her that dinner was ready.


    Li Cheng liked privacy a lot. The cleaners, driver, and cooks came to the house in the morning and left in the evening. It was only his bodyguards that were allowed to stay with him every day.


    Zhang Lihua only nodded and headed towards the dinning table, then she called out


    "Madam Zhu!" Madam Zhu walked hurriedly out of the kitchen


    "Lady Boss, is there anything you need?" Madam Zhu asked softly


    Ever since she got married to Li Cheng, his employees addressed her as Lady Boss.


    "Not really, go and tell the boss that dinner is ready" Zhang Lihua said while she started eating her food.


    "Okay Lady Boss" Madam Zhu replied and headed for Li Cheng''s study. After telling Li Cheng that dinner was ready, she picked up her bag and left his residence.


    Li Cheng lived in Gold Estate. The houses there are really expensive, only very influential citizens of Beijing could afford to buy a house in Gold Estate.


    When Li Cheng came downstairs, Lihua was almost done with eating. Li Cheng only ate a little and returned to his study while Lihua cleared the table and washed the dishes. When she got into the bedroom, she had a hard time thinking about sleeping on the coach or bed


    Am not going to allow that man touch me, maybe I should just sleep on the coach.


    Lihua went into the dressing room and took a comforter. She took a pillow from the bed and placed it on the coach. She lied down on the coach and used the comforter in covering herself.


    When Li Cheng came back to the bedroom, Lihua was fast asleep.

 Chapter 4 - I didnt touch you

    He stared at her sleeping face.


    She looks really beautiful when she''s sleeping. But why is she sleeping on the coach. She doesn''t want to share a bed with me. I guess she''s scared that am going to take advantage of her.


    This was a girl that he had loved for seven years of his life. She visited his family home with her parents when he was nineteen and she was seventeen. She was still in high school by then. He had developed feelings for her immediately, he thought the feelings were going to disappear after some days, but they continued to grow. He refused to go into any relationship because he only had her in his heart. He always wanted to be by her side. When his parents told him that he was going to get married to her, he agreed without hesitation. But now that he was close to her, he couldn''t tell her that he has loved her for seven years besides she wasn''t going to comply because he knew she didn''t like him.


    He carried the girl and placed her on the bed. He kissed her on her forehead and covered her with the comforter.


    Zhang Lihua could feel the rays of the sun on her face. When she opened her eyes, she realized that she was on the bed and Li Cheng was sleeping on the coach. She raised the comforter and checked her body to be sure that he didn''t touch her.


    Thank God he didn''t touch me. How come he carried me to the bed and I didn''t notice it.


    "Don''t worry, I didn''t touch you" Li Cheng voice brought her back from her thoughts


    She stared at him blankly and replied coldly "Whatever"


    Li Cheng took his bath and left the room as usual.


    Zhang Lihua sat on the bed thinking of a place to go to. She decided to visit Yuan Huan. She sent Yuan Huan a text message and told her that she was going to meet her in her house by 10am.


    She took her bath. When she went into the dressing room, she found it difficult picking a cloth to wear. She is married to the number one influential business man in Beijing and the Netizens are aware. If she put on something too short, she was going to be labeled a pr?st?tut?.


    She finally decided to put on a jeans trousers and pink flowered top. She packed her hair into a ponytail, put on light makeup and wore a pair of pink flat shoes. When she was satisfied with her appearance, she picked up her bag and headed downstairs.

 Chapter 5 - Arranged marriages dont have honeymoon

    Li Cheng heard footsteps but he didn''t bother to look at the direction the footsteps were coming from, he knew his wife was coming downstairs. But instead of her heading to the kitchen or the dining table, he saw her heading towards the door.


    "Where are you going to? We are on our honeymoon and you aren''t supposed to leave the house" Li Cheng said


    Zhang stopped walking and turned towards his direction "Mr Li, am I supposed to remind you that this is an arranged marriage? Arranged marriages don''t have honeymoon" She replied coldly and left the house before Li Cheng could stop her.


    Li Cheng was speechless, he felt a slight pain in his heart.


    Yeah, she''s right, arranged marriages don''t have honeymoon.


    Li Cheng left the sitting room and headed towards his study. He kept himself busy so that he could forget the pain in his heart.


    When Lihua arrived at her Yuan Huan place, there was no paparazzi or reporter around. Yuan Huan was so happy to see her


    "So tell me how is marriage life like?" Yuan Huan asked happily


    "I don''t know" Zhang Lihua replied immediately


    "What do you mean by you don''t know? Aren''t you married to Li Cheng?" Yuan Huan said as the smile in her face started to fade


    "Am married to Li Cheng, but you should remember that it is an arranged marriage, once my family''s business is stable, am going to divorce him" Zhang Lihua stated plainly


    Yuan Huan was speechless. She knew that Zhang Lihua felt nothing for Li Cheng, but somewhere deep down her heart, she believed that Zhang Lihua was going to like him.


    "You are on your honeymoon, you are supposed to be spending time with your husband and not me" Yuan Huan said this because she was trying to convince her to go home but Zhang Lihua was still adamant


    "Staying in that house gives me headache and I didn''t come here for you to advice me to go back to Li Cheng, I came here because I wanted you to keep me company, so change the topic"


    Zhang Lihua replied in a tone that sounded as if she was irritated by what Yuan Huan was saying.


    Yuan Huan was sensible enough. She knew Lihua was irritated so she changed the topic. They talked about different girly things, watched movies and even cooked together. When it was getting late, Yuan Huan finally managed to convince Lihua to go home.

 Chapter 6 - Boss doesnt like eating

    When Zhang Lihua got home, she saw Li Cheng in the sitting room reading a newspaper.


    Li Cheng raised his head slightly and saw Zhang Lihua step into the sitting room. He checked the time and it was 6pm. He frowned slightly.


    Zhang Lihua looked at her husband and walk pass him without saying anything


    "Zhang Lihua" Li Cheng called out in his usual cold tone


    Zhang Lihua stopped walking and turned to look at him. Li Cheng stood up and faced her


    "From today onwards, you are not leaving this house without the bodyguards" After he finished saying that, he didn''t wait for Zhang Lihua to say anything, he headed for his study.


    Zhang Lihua was speechless as she stared at his cold back.


    Is this guy stupid? I can''t go out everyday with bodyguards. This house feels like hell and those bodyguards look scary.


    "Lady Boss" Madam Zhu called out as Zhang Lihua jolted out of her thoughts


    "Yes, Madam Zhu"


    "Dinner is ready. Should I serve the meal on the dining table?"


    "Yes, and when you are done you can leave"


    "Okay Lady Boss" Zhang Lihua headed upstairs when she heard Madam Zhu call her again.


    "Lady Boss"


    "Any problem?"


    "Not really. Lady Boss, I won''t be coming tomorrow, my son is sick and I need to take care of him"


    Madam Zhu had two children. Her daughter was already married while her son was still in high school. He fell sick easily and spent most of his time in the hospital.


    Zhang Lihua nodded


    "Lady Boss, the boss does not like eating, and when he eats, he only eats a little, so I was hoping that you can convince him to eat for the few days that I won''t be around"


    Madam Zhu took care of Li Cheng since he was little, and she knew that he didn''t like to eat. He preferred eating junk foods than cooked foods.


    Zhang Lihua nodded again and went upstairs.


    He doesn''t like eating, what does that have to do with me. Am so tired of this marriage, am going to go back to work tomorrow.


    Zhang Lihua studied modeling and fashion designing. She was B-list model and she was quite popular. She''s signed under Sapphire Entertainment. Sapphire Entertainment was the number one entertainment industry in Beijing and it''s under the Li Corporations. Li Cheng''s cousin, Li Zihao was the president of Sapphire Entertainment.


    Zhang Lihua had the perfect features of a model. Her legs were long and straight and she looked elegant in whatever dress she wore.

 Chapter 7 - I want to go back to work

    Zhang Lihua went to Li Cheng''s study after she took her bath.


    Li Cheng was going through some documents when he noticed that someone was standing at his study room door. He turned his head and looked at Zhang Lihua coldly.


    Zhang Lihua cleared her throat. "Dinner is ready"


    Li Cheng replied her with a "hmm" and continued going through the documents.


    Zhang Lihua started eating when she got downstairs but she ate slowly. She was planning to tell Li Cheng that she was going to resume work tomorrow.


    Li Cheng came downstairs.


    He saw Zhang Lihua eating slowly, he stared at her for sometime and walked to the dinning table. When he was almost done with eating, he heard Zhang Lihua call his name.


    "Mr Li" Zhang Lihua addressed Li Cheng as Mr Li. She only called him Li Cheng when they where in public places. Li Cheng was used to it so he didn''t bother much about it.


    "Hmm"


    "I want to go back to work tomorrow. Am tired of sitting down at home without doing anything"


    Li Cheng stared at her for ten seconds without saying anything. He wanted to say ''but we are still on our honeymoon'' but he knew she was going to argue about it. He nodded his head and went back to his study. He knew he couldn''t stop her. Besides, he was in love with her and he wanted her to always be happy so he just allowed her to continue with her career.


    Oh my God! He allowed me to resume work tomorrow without complaining. But then, I still have to go to work with those bodyguards.


    Zhang Lihua cleaned the dining table and washed the dishes.


    That night, she slept on the coach while Li Cheng slept on the bed. When it was midnight, she was shivering badly, she had no other choice than to sleep on the bed. She slept on the edge and their was enough space between her and Li Cheng.


    So this was how Li Cheng felt when he slept on the coach last night. No wonder he decided to sleep on the bed today.

 Chapter 8 - Isnt CEO Li complaining?

    The next morning, when Zhang Lihua woke up, she realized that Li Cheng was no longer on the bed and she couldn''t hear the sound of water pouring in the bathroom.


    Could he had gone to work so early. This is just 7am.


    Li Cheng woke up by 5:30am. After taking his bath, he didn''t eat anything, he just dressed up and headed for work.


    Zhang Lihua took her bath and prepared little noodles. After she finished eating, she dressed up and called her ?ssistant.


    Her ?ssistant, Xu Chunhua had a jovial personality. She was 24 years old, she was older than Zhang Lihua with a few months. She liked to go on outings and she was in love with fashion. She wasn''t good in keeping relationships with her opposite s?x.


    "Xu Chunhua"


    "Our Lady Boss, how is the honeymoon going?" Xu Chunhua happy voice rang through the other side of the phone.


    Zhang Lihua giggled slightly."I didn''t call you for that, am resuming work today so I want you to call Manager Ling and inform her that am returning to the company today"


    Xu Chunhua was confused when she heard her.


    "But I thought you are still on your honeymoon. Isn''t CEO Li complaining?"


    "He doesn''t mind, just do what I asked you do, am on my way to the company. I will see you when I get there"


    Zhang Lihua picked up her bag and car keys. When she came out, two bodyguards were already waiting for her besides her car. She wanted to send them back but she knew that they were not going to allow her go out on her own. One of the bodyguards took her car keys and headed for the driver''s seat while the other bodyguard opened the door for her to get in.


    At Sapphire Entertainment.


    It was already 9am when Zhang Lihua arrived. All the staffs looked at her direction. She was dressed in a simple black fitted gown and wore a high heels that was about 6-8 centimetres long. Her makeup was light and didn''t park her hair. Some of the staffs whispered among themselves.


    "Isn''t that Zhang Lihua? The model who just got married to CEO Li"


    "She''s the one, I thought she was supposed to be on her honeymoon"


    "I think CEO Li is concerned about her career, that was why he allowed her to come back to work"


    "Such a loving husband, I really wish CEO Li was mine"


    "She looks so beautiful unlike before, I guess marriage has helped to increase her beauty"


    "Which girl wouldn''t get beautiful if she''s married to CEO Li"

 Chapter 9 - They look scary

    When Zhang Lihua entered the company building, Xu Chunhua headed towards her direction. Xu Chunhua saw the two scary men behind Zhang Lihua.


    "Lihua are those your bodyguards?" Xu Chunhua was fond of calling Zhang Lihua, Lihua. When Zhang Lihua asked her why she didn''t like to call her Zhang Lihua, she simply said that she preferred calling her Lihua.


    Zhang Lihua nodded.


    "They look scary" Xu Chunhua said in a low tone, hoping that the bodyguards won''t hear her.


    "Have you informed Manager Ling about my return?" Zhang Lihua asked as they headed for the elevator.


    "Yes, I have told her. She has already prepared your contracts for you, you just have to pick the one you like" Xu Chunhua explained some details of the contracts to Lihua. When she was done, they had already arrived at Manager Ling''s office. The bodyguards waited for Zhang Lihua outside.


    Manager Ling was hardworking. She had been in charge of some successful models and actresses. But Zhang Lihua was the only person who caught her attention quite well. Lihua was beautiful, determined, elegant and had everything a model was supposed to have, the long legs, h?ps, beauty, elegance and perfect body.


    "Manager Ling" Zhang Lihua greeted her as she sat on the chair opposite her.


    "Welcome back Zhang Lihua" Manager Ling brought out some documents and gave them to Zhang Lihua


    "The period of time when you were away, I received invites from a few companies. I have gone through the contracts and the companies terms and conditions aren''t bad. But I would have preferred you to go for the audition of Glamour Perfume. They just released a new product and they are going to be shooting a commercial for it."


    Glamour Perfume was one of the top companies producing Perfumes in Beijing. Their products were popular in America, South Korea, France and many other countries. Zhang Lihua saw it as a big opportunity but Glamour Perfume auditions were quite tough.


    "Zhang Lihua I know you are thinking about the tough audition but this is a big opportunity" Manager Ling said as she noticed Zhang Lihua''s hesitation


    "Thank you Manager Ling, I will go for the audition, even if it''s going to be tough, I will try my best."


    Zhang Lihua got to were she was in the entertainment industry without any special connection. She depended on her abilities and not other people''s favours or wealth. Even when she was given an opportunity by rich men, she rejected them.


    Manager Ling smiled, she liked the determined part of Zhang Lihua.


    "The theme is elegance, beauty and loyalty, the edition will hold in their company''s hall next week Tuesday by 9am"


    "Okay Manager Ling"


    "Okay, I will inform you if there''s any change" Zhang Lihua and Manager Ling chatted for some time before Zhang Lihua left with Xu Chunhua.

 Chapter 10 - Senior Guang is here

    Zhang Lihua and Xu Chunhua talked about different things as they strolled through the company''s hall way.


    Then someone shouted "Senior Guang is here." Those who were in the hallway stared at the door as Sun Guang entered the company with her ?ssistant Hu Jie.


    Sun Guang was an A-list model. Unlike Zhang Lihua, she had received many awards and she was popular in Asia and America. She was 25 years. She had long legs but hers weren''t as straight as Zhang Lihua''s legs. She was beautiful and she had an arrogant personality. She was from an influential family. Her father was the CEO of Sun Corporations. At the beginning of her career, she had used her father''s connections to get into Sapphire Entertainment. She had hoped to get married to Li Cheng because Li Cheng and her father did so many businesses together.


    Hu Jie on the other hand was from a middle class family. She was easy to convince and she was quite beautiful. When she started working for Sun Guang, she became quite rich. She did everything Sun Guang asked her to do because she didn''t want to loose the opportunity of getting rich. Hu Jie liked money a lot.


    Sun Guang wore a yellow flowered fitted gown and it was one of the latest products from Prada. Her 8-10 centimeters high heel shoes and bag were also from Prada.


    "Omg! Isn''t that one of Prada''s latest designs, I heard it''s really expensive"


    "Senior Guang looks so beautiful today"


    "I heard she was the one who was supposed to get married to CEO Li but Zhang Lihua ended up taking her place"


    "I wonder why CEO Li rejected someone as influential as Senior Guang and married that B-list model"


    Zhang Lihua and Xu Chunhua heard the whispers between the staffs. Xu Chunhua was about to loose her temper but Zhang Lihua maintained a calm expression.


    Zhang Lihua was very good in hiding her emotions. After her experience with Liu Qiang, she had grown to become stronger.


    "Let''s go" Zhang Lihua said to Xu Chunhua calmly. Xu Chunhua knew Zhang Lihua was very good in hiding her emotions. One found it difficult to know when she''s angry, sad or happy. Xu Chunhua and Zhang Lihua turned to leave when Zhang Lihua heard someone call out her name.


    "Zhang Lihua!" Xu Chunhua and Zhang Lihua stopped and turned to see who called Zhang Lihua.

 Chapter 11 - Isnt this an old design?

    "Senior Guang" Zhang Lihua and Xu Chunhua greeted her.


    "How''s marriage life like? I thought you are on your honeymoon, why are you here?" Sun Guang asked mockingly


    "My husband does not mind" Zhang Lihua smiled as she answered her.


    Zhang Lihua knew that Sun Guang had a crush on Li Cheng. There was even a rumour that they were dating. She didn''t bother to ask Li Cheng because she didn''t care about his personal life.


    Sun Guang smile faded slightly as she heard Zhang Lihua. She heard that their marriage was arranged and they were going to get divorced after a year but why was Zhang Lihua addressing him as her husband. Her hatred for Zhang Lihua increased and her determination to make Li Cheng hers increased rapidly.


    "Isn''t that an old design?" Sun Guang said as she pointed at Zhang Lihua''s dress, she wanted to embarrass her.


    "You are right, it''s an old design, even the shoes are old." Hu Jie supported her immediately


    The staffs who were on the hallway with them, also noticed that Zhang Lihua''s dress was an old design. Zhang Lihua wasn''t the type of person to show off, she preferred dressing simple. Sun Guang was the complete opposite of Zhang Lihua. She preferred wearing the latest designs of clothes and shoes, her bags and jewelries were also latest designs and they were really expensive.


    "Isn''t she married to the No. 1 influential man in Beijing? Why is she dressing like a Pauper"


    "Maybe CEO Li doesn''t like her, besides there''s nothing special about her"


    "Exactly, her family business is already collapsing"


    "Senior Guang is the perfect match for CEO Li and not this pauper"


    The staffs were already mocking and laughing at Zhang Lihua but her expression was still calm.


    Sun Guang was satisfied with the reactions from the staffs.


    "I guess you should tell your husband to get you the latest designs of clothes, or don''t he like to spend money on you?"


    Zhang Lihua stared at Sun Guang blankly before she turned to Xu Chunhua and said "Let''s go"


    Sun Guang wasn''t happy with Zhang Lihua''s reaction, she expected her to feel humiliated but she was still calm.


    Hu Jie noticed her dissatisfaction and said "Senior Guang don''t worry, even if she''s not feeling humiliated, you have already humiliated her in front of the staffs and am sure that CEO Li is going to dump her when he''s tired, she''s just a toy. You are the real Lady Boss"


    Sun Guang smiled when she heard Hu Jie. She''s the real Lady Boss, she just has to find a way to visit CEO Li and paint Zhang Lihua black in front of him.

 Chapter 12 - She doesnt like me

    At Li Corporations


    Li Cheng was in his office going through some documents about the Zhang Corporations when his cousin Li Zihao entered his office without knocking.


    Li Zihao was handsome but not as handsome as Li Cheng. He was the also 26 years old. He was free with everyone and was really good in making friends and convincing people. He loved partying and going on outings. He had dated many girls but never planned to marry any of them. He was also lazy so he spent little time in Sapphire Entertainment. His Vice President handled Sapphire Entertainment for him.


    "Bro, what''s happening?" Li Zihao asked happily as he sat on a coach in Li Cheng office.


    Li Cheng was the only child of his parents, the only person who visited him when he was little was Li Zihao. Li Zihao knew him more than his parents. Li Zihao was already used to his cousin''s cold personality.


    Li Cheng raised his head slightly and didn''t say anything.


    Li Zihao smiled and stood up. He walked towards Li Cheng table and asked "how is marriage life with the love of your life or haven''t you told her that you love her?"


    Li Zihao was the only person who knew he was in love with Zhang Lihua.


    "I haven''t told her" Li Cheng replied as he continued working.


    "Why" Li Zihao asked with a tone of disappointed. He had expected his cousin to reveal his true feelings to Zhang Lihua once they got married.


    "She doesn''t like me" When Li Cheng said that he felt a sharp pain in his heart.


    Li Zihao stared at his cousin, he could see his pains in his eyes.


    "Don''t worry bro, I believe she will definitely grow to love you, she just need some time" Li Zihao encouraged him .


    There was a knock at Li Cheng''s office door


    "Come in" Li Cheng said in a cold tone


    Secretary Jiao has been Li Cheng''s secretary for 3 years and she was already used to his cold personality.


    "CEO Li, Miss Sun is here to see you"


    "I don''t want to see anybody" Li Cheng replied coldly.


    "Okay CEO Li" Secretary Jiao replied immediately as she left his office.


    "Bro, isn''t Miss Sun, CEO Sun''s daughter, the lady that spread the rumours that you were dating her?" Li Zihao asked excitedly


    Li Cheng replied with a "hmm"


    "Why is she looking for you? I guess she''s planning to spread another rumour" Li Zihao laughed as he continued talking "Bro, you are just too bad, you rejected her immediately"

 Chapter 13 - He refused to see me

    When Secretary Jiao came out of Li Cheng''s office, Sun Guang walked towards her excitedly

    When Sun Guang returned to her car, her face was pale and gloomy. Hu Jie noticed her mood and guessed that the meeting with CEO Li didn''t go well.


    "Senior Guang what did he say?"


    "He refused to see me"


    "Senior Guang, don''t worry, I guess he''s just busy and maybe he''s not in a good mood" Hu Jie encouraged Senior Guang as they left the Li Corporations.

    Inside Manager Ling''s office


    Xu Chunhua was really angry that Sun Guang humiliated Zhang Lihua.


    "Who does she think she is, she only used connections to get to where she is today and she humiliated you and you didn''t say anything" Xu Chunhua lamented in anger. Zhang Lihua was still calm.


    "Xu Chunhua, I was the one who was humiliated and not you"


    "But Lihua that girl embarrassed you..." Manager Ling interrupted Xu Chunhua before she could continue


    "Assistant Xu, you know that Sun Guang is arrogant and she also has a crush on CEO Li, so you weren''t expecting her to take it easy on Zhang Lihua. Zhang Lihua just pay less attention to Sun Guang and prepare for your audition in Glamour Perfume, Assistant Xu ?ssist her in the preparations for the audition"


    "Okay Manager Ling" Zhang Lihua and Xu Chunhua replied as they both left Manager Ling''s office.


    Xu Chunhua and Zhang Lihua chatted for some time before Zhang Lihua decided to go back home.

    When Zhang Lihua got home, the house was quiet. Madam Zhu was with her son in the hospital and the cleaners had return to their homes. Li Cheng wasn''t back from work.


    After taking her shower, she prepared dinner. When she was done with eating, she heard the sound of Li Cheng''s car.

 Chapter 14 - Did anything happen?

    When Li Cheng entered the house, he stared at Zhang Lihua and headed upstairs.


    Zhang Lihua didn''t say anything to him. She washed the dishes and placed his food on the dining table. She went upstairs and told Li Cheng that his food was ready. Li Cheng only replied with a "hmm".


    That night she got a call from her mother, Madam Zhang.


    "Hello Mom, how are you doing?"


    "Xiao Lihua am fine, how''s the honeymoon going, did anything happen?" Madam Zhang asked excitedly


    "Mom nothing happened and the honeymoon is going well"


    "What do you mean by nothing happened? Didn''t Li Cheng touch you? "


    "Mom! Enough of the questions, besides why did you call?"


    "I just wanted to tell you that Zhang Corporations is doing well, your husband is really trying"


    "Oh, that''s good to hear, mom am going to hang up now, I have things to do" Before Madam Zhang could say something else, Zhang Lihua had already hanged up.


    Madam Zhang had two daughters. Her first daughter, Zhang Hua was in the states and she was already married. She was a scientist. As for Zhang Lihua, she was a model and she wasn''t ready to go into business. Her two daughters weren''t interested in business, so when Zhang Corporations had problems, her husband, CEO Zhang could only convince Zhang Lihua to get married to Li Cheng because that was the only way that Zhang Corporations would return to how it used to be before. She knew her daughter didn''t like Li Cheng and she really hoped that she will grow to love him.


    Zhang Lihua sighed deeply. Her parents really wanted to have grand children but she didn''t have plans of getting pregnant with Li Cheng''s child.


    Li Cheng continued coming back from work late and ate little. Zhang Lihua on the other hand didn''t care about his lateness or how much food he ate. She continued preparing for her audition in Glamour Perfume.


    She really wanted to be the spokesperson for Glamour Perfume.


    Li Cheng and Zhang Lihua continued living like strangers but none of them expected that their fate will change soon.


    It was a Monday morning, Zhang Lihua woke up early because she had to go to the company and discuss her preparations for the audition with Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua.


    When she woke up, she didn''t hear the sound of running water in the bathroom. That was something she was used to, Li Cheng always woke up before her. The house was quiet as usual. Madam Zhu was still staying with her son at the hospital.

 Chapter 15 - Mr Li, you are awake

    After she finished taking her bath, she dressed up and left the bedroom. When she came outside, she noticed that Li Cheng''s study was open.


    Li Cheng never leaves his study open and he always leaves for work before me.


    Zhang Lihua decided to close the study.


    Li Cheng''s study was decorated in a simple way, there was a book shelf, a computer, a table and a coach.


    Zhang Lihua looked into the study and saw someone lying down on the coach.


    Isn''t that Li Cheng, what is he doing there? He always goes to work early and he doesn''t fall asleep in his study.


    Zhang Lihua decided to wake him up. She entered the study and shook Li Cheng lightly. She noticed that his body was hot. She used her hand to feel his forehead


    Shit! He''s burning up. Why will he neglect his body up to this extent?


    Although Zhang Lihua didn''t like Li Cheng, she wasn''t planning to leave him alone in the house in his condition.


    Li Cheng wasn''t feeling too well the previous night, he had a slight headache but he paid less attention to it. When he was 20, he started living on his own, he wasn''t used to people taking care of him. Madam Zhu was the only person who managed to take care of him when he was sick.


    Zhang Lihua called Manager Ling and told her that she won''t be coming to the office that day because of Li Cheng''s health condition.


    Zhang Lihua was caring, she was good in taking care of the sick that sometimes her parents wondered whether she was born to be a doctor.


    Li Cheng opened his eyes, he could feel something wet on his head.


    Is Madam Zhu back? Why is there a wet towel on my head? As Li Cheng was wondering who was taking care of him, someone called his name


    "Mr Li, you are awake" Zhang Lihua walked into the study putting on home clothes.


    Li Cheng stared at her. He felt warmth in his heart. Even if he knew she was just doing it because she couldn''t leave him in the house, he was still happy that he was been taken care of by the woman he love.


    Zhang Lihua noticed his stare and ?ssumed that he was wondering why she was there.


    "You were burning up and I couldn''t leave you in your condition. You should go to the bedroom, you will feel more comfortable there. Can you walk?"


    "Mr Li, I will draw a hot bath for you" After saying that, she went into the bathroom.

 Chapter 16 - He looks more handsome when hes drinking the soup

    Li Cheng stared at the bathroom door. He never allowed people to take care of him when he was sick. His mother often found it difficult to take care of him when he was little, even Madam Zhu had a hard time taking care of him. It was only Zhang Lihua that he didn''t give a difficult time. He wanted to feel her care so he wasn''t going to misuse the opportunity.


    Zhang Lihua came out of the bathroom and saw Li Cheng going through his phone, then she remembered something. She cleared her throat and Li Cheng looked towards her direction.


    "Emm Mr Li, your secretary called and I told her you were sick, I also told her to cancel all your appointments today" Zhang Lihua was expecting Li Cheng to shout at her or call his secretary back and tell her that he was coming to work but instead he dropped his phone and simply said an "okay"


    "I have drawn the hot bath, I will be back to check on you when you are done with bathing"


    "Okay" Li Cheng headed for the bathroom while Zhang Lihua went to the kitchen to prepare ginger soup.


    When she came back, Li Cheng was coming out of the dressing room putting on home clothes.


    "Mr Li, how are you feeling?" She touched his head slightly, when she realized her action, she removed her hands immediately.


    That was the first time that she was touching Li Cheng freely. They were so close to each other, Li Cheng really wanted to kiss her.


    "Much better" Li Cheng replied as he stared at the soup in her hand. Zhang Lihua noticed his stare


    "This is Ginger soup, it will help you get better, drink it when it''s still hot. I also bought some drugs for your headache" Zhang Lihua gave Li Cheng the soup.


    "Okay" Li Cheng took the soup and sat on the coach as he drank it slowly. Zhang Lihua sat on the bed and looked at him


    He doesn''t look bad. He looks more handsome when he''s drinking the soup. How can someone be so handsome? What am thinking, I don''t like this guy, I have to kill this thoughts


    "Mr Li when you are done with drinking the soup, take this tablets and rest a bit" After Zhang Lihua finished talking, she dropped the tablets on the table and left the room without waiting for Li Cheng to reply. She couldn''t understand the thoughts that where getting into her head.


    Li Cheng took the tablets after he finished drinking the soup. He picked up a document and started going through it. It was a document about the Zhang Corporations, the document showed the profits and loss of the Corporations for the past two years.


    When Zhang Lihua returned she saw him going through a document and she was angry.


    Don''t this man understand anything? I asked him to rest and not to go through a document.

 Chapter 17 - Just call me Li Cheng

    "Li Cheng I asked you to rest and not to go through a document" She took the document from him and kept it on the table. Out of her anger, she called him Li Cheng unknowingly. "You neglected your health to the extent that you had a high fever and you still want to work when you aren''t fully recovered, do you think you are a machine?"


    Li Cheng was speechless. He stared at her blankly. She called him Li Cheng and not Mr Li. She was even complaining about him working when he''s sick. He felt warmth in his heart.


    Zhang Lihua realized herself after she finished talking. That was the first time that she talked to Li Cheng like that. She thought he was going to shout at her.


    "I... I will go and get your food" After saying that, she left the room immediately.


    Li Cheng smiled slightly. He liked it when she complained about him working, he also liked it when she called him Li Cheng and not Mr Li.


    Zhang Lihua returned with a tray of food. She cooked only a little amount of food. She felt that he wasn''t going to eat much coupled with the fact that he was sick. She kept the food on the table. As she was about to leave, Li Cheng said expressionlessly


    "You have an audition at Glamour Perfume tomorrow, you should be at the company, it''s only 2pm, you can still go to the company, I will be fine on my own"


    "Mr Li..." Before Zhang Lihua could continue Li Cheng interrupted her


    "Just call me Li Cheng"


    "Okay, Li Cheng, I have already informed my manager that I won''t be going to the company, besides I have been preparing for the audition for the past 4 days, am already prepared"


    "What is the theme of Glamour Perfume''s new product?" Zhang Lihua noticed that he wanted to start a conversation, so she sat on the bed


    "Beauty, elegance and loyalty"


    "You already have them" Li Cheng blotted out before he could realize himself.


    "Have what?" Zhang Lihua didn''t understand what he was saying but she felt he was talking about beauty, elegance and loyalty.


    "Nothing" Li Cheng said without any expression on his face. Zhang Lihua tried to study his expression but she couldn''t find anything


    "You should eat your food before it gets cold" After saying that, Li Cheng started eating while she went through her phone.

 Chapter 18 - You actually finished your food

    That was the first time that they had a good conversation, although it was short, Zhang Lihua felt that Li Cheng wasn''t as cold as she thought he was.


    As for Li Cheng, he was happy that they had a conversation without arguing.


    Li Cheng finished his food, that was the first time that Zhang Lihua saw him finishing his food since she started living with him


    "You actually finished your food, this is the first time that you finished your food since I started living with you" Zhang Lihua said in a tone full of surprise.


    "Hmm, maybe it''s because am sick" Li Cheng lied to cover up. He finished the food because that was the first time that he felt her care.


    "Okay, You should rest" Zhang Lihua picked up the tray and left the room. Li Cheng lay down on the bed and fell asleep immediately. He slept peacefully, maybe it was because he had not slept well for some days and Zhang Lihua took care of him.


    When he woke up, it was 7pm. He went downstairs and saw Zhang Lihua serving the food on the dining table, he stared at her.


    Zhang Lihua finished serving the meal, as she was about to go upstairs, she say Li Cheng standing on the stairs


    "Mr... Li Cheng you are awake, dinner is ready" She was just about to call him Mr Li again


    Li Cheng frowned slightly and went to the dinning table. They ate silently and he finished his food again. Zhang Lihua was surprise, even if that was the second time he finished his food that day, she kept wondering whether it was really because he was sick.


    "How are you feeling? Do you still have an headache?" Zhang Lihua asked when they were done with eating


    "Am fine now" Li Cheng replied with a cold tone


    "Okay"


    "You should rest early, you have an audition tomorrow" Li Cheng said as he stood up and went to the Living room


    "I will, once am done with the dishes. You should also rest tonight"


    "Hmm" Their conversation was short but Li Cheng felt fulfilled. That night Li Cheng didn''t go to his study. After bathing, he just lied down on the bed. Zhang Lihua also rested after she finished bathing. Unlike the other nights that Zhang Lihua felt that Li Cheng was going to take advantage of her, she felt more comfortable. Maybe it was because they chatted freely during the day. Li Cheng was happy that Zhang Lihua felt more comfortable compared to the other nights. After that day, their relationship improved.

 Chapter 19 - Is that cold man possessed by some kind of spirit today?

    Tuesday morning finally came. Unlike the other days, Li Cheng didn''t leave for work early. When Zhang Lihua woke up, Li Cheng was bathing.


    He didn''t leave for work early today, quite surprising.


    Zhang Lihua went downstairs to prepare breakfast. When she went back to the bedroom, Li Cheng was done with dressing. He wore a black suit and his face didn''t look pale. Li Cheng preferred wearing dark colours, his suits were either black, gray or brown in colour.


    Li Cheng turned towards Zhang Lihua''s direction and saw her staring at him


    "Good morning" Zhang Lihua jolted out of her thoughts


    "Morning, breakfast is ready"


    Li Cheng nodded and said "Goodluck"


    Zhang Lihua stared at him blankly, she didn''t know why he was wishing her goodluck. Li Cheng noticed her confusion and said "in your audition"


    "Oh, thank you" Li Cheng left the bedroom without saying any other thing.


    What''s happening today, why does his behavior seem strange? He even wished me goodluck, maybe it''s because I took care of him yesterday.


    Zhang Lihua took her bath. She wore a plain white top and a blue Jeans trousers, her makeup was light and she parked her hair in a ponytail. She went downstairs and ate her breakfast, then she discovered that Li Cheng ate his breakfast before going to work.


    This is strange, is that cold man possessed by some kind of spirit today? he actually ate his breakfast, he even wished me goodluck and he didn''t go to work early like other days.


    Xu Chunhua and Manager Ling came to pick Zhang Lihua up. The bodyguards didn''t follow her like other days and she didn''t bother to ask them why. She was really happy that they didn''t follow her


    Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua looked at her in confusion, they didn''t understand why she was dressed so simple. They were expecting her to wear the latest designs of clothes and shoes and put on heavy makeup.


    Manager Ling was the first person to speak up "Zhang Lihua we are going for the audition once we leave this place"


    "I know"


    Xu Chunhua looked at her in more confusion and asked "then why are you dressed so simple?"


    "Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua just trust me on this"


    Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua replied with an "Okay". They didn''t know what Zhang Lihua was planning to do so they just decided to trust her.

 Chapter 20 - She prepared breakfast for me

    At Li Corporations


    Li Cheng arrived and he was looking different. He didn''t shout at the staffs like other days instead he went to his office quietly and even answered those that greeted him. The staffs were surprised at his behavior


    "CEO Li is behaving strange today, he didn''t shout at any of us"


    "I heard he was sick, maybe the sickness affected his behavior"


    "What are you saying? This isn''t the first time that CEO Li has fallen sick, his coldness towards us even increases when he''s sick"


    "Maybe he''s on very good term with the Lady Boss"


    "He even came to work late"


    Even Secretary Jiao was surprise. Since she started working for Li Cheng, she has never seeing him in a different mood. He was always cold towards his staffs and he never answers his staffs when they greeted him.


    Li Zihao was also surprised at his cousin''s change of attitude, he couldn''t hold his curiosity


    "Bro, what happened? Your mood is quite different today"


    Li Cheng looked at him blankly "she took care of me yesterday"


    Li Zihao knew he was talking about Zhang Lihua, he was really happy that Zhang Lihua took care of his brother when he was sick "Bro, this is good news, so did you tell her how you feel about her?"


    Li Cheng looked at him coldly, Li Zihao understood what the look meant so he changed the topic "Bro, am hungry, have your secretary brought your breakfast?"


    Li Cheng continued with what he was doing and replied calmly "I ate breakfast at home"


    Li Zihao was surprise, Li Cheng never eats breakfast at home. "What do mean by that?" There was confusion in his tone, he knew Li Cheng hate playing pranks so he was quite sure that he was saying the truth


    "She prepared breakfast for me" Li Cheng replied without raising his head


    Li Zihao was happy "This is interesting, your relationship with sister in-law is really improving"


    Li Cheng replied with a "hmm".


    Li Zihao wanted to convince his cousin to confess his feelings to Zhang Lihua but he knew that his cousin wouldn''t listen to him so he didn''t bring up the topic. Li Zihao was always fond of his cousin since he was little because Li Cheng didn''t allow anybody to bully him and he always took the blame when he did something wrong. Li Zihao really wanted to help his cousin confess his feelings to Zhang Lihua but he was scared that she will reject his cousin so he killed his thoughts.

 Chapter 21 - Zhao Biyu is here

    At Glamour Perfume


    Manager Ling, Xu Chunhua and Zhang Lihua arrived when it was 8:30am. Most of the candidates for the audition had arrived. They wore latest designs of clothes and shoes and their makeup were done by the best makeup artists in Imperial City. They were surprised with the way Zhang Lihua dressed and some of them started mocking her


    "Isn''t that the wife of CEO Li? Why is dressed like a pauper?"


    "I guess CEO Li isn''t treating her well, besides how will a B-list model like her get married to CEO Li so easily, am sure she seduced him"


    "Very soon, CEO Li will dump her and get married to a better model like Sun Guang or even me"


    "Keep hoping, he won''t look at you twice"


    They kept mocking Zhang Lihua but her expression was calm. She didn''t care about what they were saying because she already had plans of divorcing Li Cheng.


    Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua were not comfortable with the things they heard about Zhang Lihua but she didn''t mind so they decided to let it go. Someone from the crowd said something that caught Zhang Lihua''s attention


    "I heard that Zhao Biyu has already been chosen as the spokesperson"


    "They have already gotten who they want,why did they hold the audition?"


    "I guess they just want to give us a chance"


    Zhang Lihua expression became darker. Zhao Biyu had already been chosen, she wasn''t surprise. Zhao Biyu studied modeling and fashion designing just like her and she was an A-list model. Just like Sun Guang, she had also won some awards.


    "Zhao Biyu is here" Someone shouted from the crowd, everybody turned towards the entrance. Zhao Biyu entered with her ?ssistant and manager. She wore a design from Vintage. Vintage dresses were really expensive and their dresses were limited edition. They always competed with Prada.


    "OMG! She looks so beautiful"


    "That dress is from Vintage and it''s a limited edition"


    "No wonder she was chosen, she has everything they need, elegance, beauty and loyalty"


    "What do you expect from someone who is married to CEO Liu"


    She finally got married to Liu Qiang. Zhang Lihua didn''t attend their wedding and she never communicated with them after the incident.


    One of Glamour Perfume staffs went to meet Zhao Biyu and greeted her

After she betrayed Zhang Lihua, she didn''t get any news about her until she heard that she had gotten married to CEO Li. She was jealous of her, she also wanted to be married to the No. 1 business man in Beijing. When she heard that it was an arranged marriage, she was happy. She felt that CEO Li was going to dump Zhang Lihua once he was tired of her.

    Zhang Lihua saw Zhoa Biyu approaching her and she kept a calm expression. She knew Zhao Biyu wanted to disgrace her by talking about the way she dressed


    "Longest time Zhang Lihua" Zhao Biyu smiled mockingly


    Zhang Lihua looked at her and also smiled "Good to see you Zhao Biyu"


    Zhao Biyu frowned slightly, she expected her to call her Madam Liu and not Zhao Biyu "I heard you got married to CEO Li, congratulations"


    Zhang Lihua knew Zhao Biyu was up to something but her expression was still calm as she smirked "Thank you, I also heard that you finally got married to CEO Liu, congratulations too"


    Zhao Biyu tone changed as she eyed Zhang Lihua "Why are you dressed like a pauper? Glamour Perfume auditions are usually tough and your appearance has already disqualified you or isn''t CEO Li treating you well?"


    Zhang Lihua ignored her, Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua also ignored her, their actions irritated Zhao Biyu "Manager Ling you should buy better dresses for your model or maybe I can give her some of my dresses, for old time sake"


    After she said that, some people started whispering among themselves


    "Madam Liu is really kind, she even offered to give her some of her dresses"


    "Haha, Zhang Lihua wouldn''t take them, she won''t like to disgrace herself"


    "But she has already disgraced herself with her looks"


    "No wonder CEO Li doesn''t like her, she can''t even dress properly"


    Zhao Biyu was happy with the reactions of those in the hall but Zhang Lihua, Manager Ling and Xu Chunhua ignored them and Zhao Biyu.


    Zhao Biyu was really angry, she wanted to say something else before a staff announced that the audition will start shortly so she returned to her seat.


    After picking their numbers, they formed a straight line. The participants were 30 in number and Zhang Lihua was number 15.


    The auditions started, those who went inside came out within two minutes, some people even came out after one minute and they all looked gloomy. They left the hall immediately they came out and wouldn''t say anything to anybody.


    "I guess they have already made their decision, we just came here for nothing"


    "Am already nervous, why does everyone look gloomy when they come out?"


    "And they don''t want to say anything to us"

    Most of the participants were already tensed up, some of them had already loosed hope, they expected the auditions to be tough but it seemed like things were worse than they thought.


    It was Zhang Lihua''s turn, her expression was calm Manger Ling told her some words of encouragement, she really hoped Zhang Lihua will be the spokesperson.

 Chapter 23 - She was the person he was looking for

    Zhang Lihua entered the audition room. Five judges were sitted around a table and she guessed that the person in the middle, was the head judge. She bowed slightly as she greeted "Good morning judges, am Zhang Lihua"


    The judges raised their heads and looked at her with surprise, they expected her to dress like other participants but she was just too simple.


    The head judge looked at her angrily "Miss Zhang I hope you know the theme?"


    Zhang Lihua noticed the man''s anger and replied with respect "Yes, I know"


    The Judge was already pissed off "I can see you are not ready for the audition, you may leave immediately"


    One of the judges tried convincing the head judge to give Zhang Lihua an opportunity


    "CEO Mo, let''s give her an opportunity, since she''s already here, we can''t send her away" the other judges supported his idea


    Director Mo was reluctant but he still listened to the judges "Fine, you have 3 minutes to tell us what you think about beauty, elegance and loyalty and how it''s related to a perfume"


    Zhang Lihua sighed inwardly, she was really grateful to the judge who spoke up for her " Beauty is a combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. Elegance is the quality of being graceful and stylish in appearance or manner, it is also the quality of being pleasingly ingenious and simple. Loyalty is the quality of being loyal. Just like beauty, the smell of a nice perfume pleases the nose, aside that, inward beauty matters a lot just like the way the quality of the products used in producing the perfume matters. Elegance is not all about wearing the latest designs of clothes and shoes and putting on heavy makeup, a person can also be simple and humble and still be elegant. A perfume quality is important, just like the same way the beauty and elegance of a person is important, perfume helps in bringing out the beauty and elegance of a person with its smell. A good perfume is ever loyal to its consumer. Thank you" Zhang Lihua bowed slightly, she spoke fluently, she wasn''t tensed up or scared.


    The judges were surprised, they expected her to be tensed up because of what happened earlier on but her confidence was too much. When they asked the previous participants about their views of beauty, elegance and loyalty, they kept talking about wearing the latest designs of clothes and shoes and putting on makeup to look good but Zhang Lihua gave them a different meaning.


    Director Mo was speechless. He thought she didn''t have anything reasonable to say, but she said everything he wanted to hear. She was confident, simple and determined. That was the elegance and beauty he wanted to see. She was the person he was looking for.

 Chapter 24 - Watch me climb to the top

    Outside the audition room.


    "Zhang Lihua has already spent five minutes inside the audition room, what''s happening?"

For the second part of the shoot, she wore one of Vintage''s latest designs, it was a pink handless gown. There was a bow tie at the left waist side of the gown, The gown had glittering stones around it. Her makeup was light and her hair was curled up.     Li Cheng was shocked as he saw the state she was in. The woman in front of him was completely drunk, she sat on the floor and gulped down the second bottle as if it was nothing. Li Cheng had never seen Zhang Lihua drunk before. Li Cheng frowned and called out to Madam Zhu

    Li Cheng frowned. So she felt jealous because she saw a man with a woman. He didn''t know who Bro Qiang was and he wanted to get more information from her. He helped her to seat on the coach and sat down next to her, then he said in a cold tone "tell me more."


    Zhang Lihua rested her head on his shoulders and continued "I went to a newly opened boutique today, I didn''t know the boutique belonged to Zhao Biyu if not I wouldn''t have gone there. I saw Bro Qiang and he said many cold things to me. He said I seduced you and other people to get to where I am today and am just a toy you are going to use and dump when you are tired, he offered to sell the dresses for me with a discount or even give them to me for free, he even called me a seductress."


    Li Cheng listened to her without saying anything.


    Zhang Lihua sobbed and continued "When I was in high school, I dated Bro Qiang and Zhao Biyu and Yuan Huan were my best friends. He sat down on the bed and replied softly "am sorry if I scolded you too hard, I was just mad that my wife wanted to kill herself" He used his palms and wiped the tears that welled up in her eyes and hugged her tightly, then he said "I don''t want you to cry because of them again"


    Zhang Lihua felt warmth and security as she hugged Li Cheng. She broke off from the hug and said "Am really sorry about my behaviour. yesterday, I wouldn''t drink that much again, thank you for not taking advantage of me. I looked really pitiful yesterday right?" She just couldn''t imagine that Li Cheng met her in such a horrible state.


    Li Cheng smiled slightly "No, you actually looked beautiful and you still look beautiful."

    She got home and met Li Cheng arranging his clothes into a small travelling bag. She was confused, Li Cheng never told her that he was going on a trip.

    When she got into the bedroom, she touched her lips


    Why couldn''t I resist him? I loosed complete control of myself but the kiss was so passionate. Zhang Lihua stop it what are you saying? Li Cheng why can''t I stop thinking about you? What have you done to me?


    Li Cheng watched her retreating figure and sighed deeply. He knew he still had to win her trust.


    For the remaining days of the week Zhang Lihua avoided Li Cheng like a plague. She ate her dinner early so that she wouldn''t share the dining table with him, she also slept early and before she would wake up the next morning, Li Cheng had already left for work.

    The lady said calmly as she smiled "Mrs Li you look so beautiful today"


    Zhang Lihua smiled politely "Thank you"


    The lady said in a low tone as she brought out a pen and book "Am a big fan of yours, can I get an autograph?"


    Zhang Lihua wasn''t the social type, she only showed her face to the public when she had an event or interview. So the lady saw it as a rare opportunity to be in the same elevator with her.


    "Sure" Zhang Lihua took the pen and book from her, she drew her signature and wrote some words of encouragement.


    The lady took the book and pen and replied happily "Thank you"


    Seeing the lady''s expression, Zhang Lihua smiled "You''re welcome"


    "Mrs Li, the event will be held at the rooftop of the building, am sorry I can''t follow you there but this staircase leads to the rooftop" The Lady pointed at a staircase


    "It''s fine, thank you"


    The lady bowed politely and left.


    Zhang Lihua stared at the staircase as she kept wondering about the type of event she was attending. She climbed the staircase slowly till she got to the rooftop of the building.


    Zhang Lihua froze.


    The rooftop was decorated with red and white roses, different colour of lights surrounded the edges of the rooftop, there was a table, with two sits. A candle and a vase of flower was on the table, white and red roses were decorated into a ''I love you'' shape close to the table.


    Zhang Lihua thought she was in the wrong place so she turned to leave. As she turned she saw Li Cheng standing in front of her wearing a black suit with a red tie. She was startled, she wanted to say something but the words couldn''t come out of her mouth


    Why is Li Cheng here? The setting here is a romantic setting or has he found someone he likes? I thought he said he was never going to dump me, Zhang Lihua you were such a fool, you believed his words without thinking and you even started falling for him.


    Zhang Lihua felt a deep pain in her heart as she thought about Li Cheng dumping her. Tears were already welling up in her eyes.

 Chapter 46 - Besides you are still going to be my first

    After they finished eating, Lihua stood near the rooftop rails and watched the view of Imperial City. The lights of Imperial City made the city so beautiful.


    Li Cheng hugged her from the back, and kissed her neck

    "Just looking at Imperial City, the view is so beautiful" Lihua replied between smiles

    Lihua blushed deeply as she laughed "Hubby let''s go home, it''s getting late"


    "But I still want to spend some time here with my wife" Li Cheng said like a pampered child


    Lihua laughed at his childish attitude "you can spend enough time with me at home" She kissed him lightly on his lips "Let''s go"


    Zhang Lihua removed her shoes and jewelries, then she felt warm hands around her waist.


    She smiled lovingly and looked at Li Cheng "Hubby...." Before she could complete her words, Li Cheng lips landed on hers.


    They kissed passionately and Li Cheng carried her to the bed. Li Cheng body was heating up, he undressed Lihua.


    Zhang Lihua heart was beating so fast when she saw Li Cheng undress her but she didn''t stop him.


    Li Cheng removed his trousers and went into her, then he felt an obstruction.


    Zhang Lihua cried out in pain.


    Li Cheng stopped "wifey am sorry, I never knew this was your first time" he apologized guiltily


    Zhang Lihua smiled "It''s fine, you can continue"


    "No I don''t want to hurt you, let''s go and take a shower" Li Cheng replied as he carried her into the bathroom.


    His love and respect for her increased. He promised himself that he was going to treat her like her queen.


    Zhang Lihua was quite surprised that Li Cheng had considered her, most men would have still slept with her even after she cried out in pain.


    Liu Qiang never considered her feelings that much when they were dating, she felt so blessed to have Li Cheng.


    Li Cheng hugged Zhang Lihua as they lied down on the bed

    Li Cheng smiled and kissed her lovingly. Just then, his phone rang. He frowned and ignored it.


    Zhang Lihua broke the kiss and said softly "you have to take that, it might be something important. Li Cheng took the call, it was from CEO Sun.


    Li Cheng knew Sun Guang was going to use her father to get to him.


    "CEO Li, sorry for the late night disturbance, I wanted to invite you to my house for dinner tomorrow"


    "No problem, I will be there. What time?"


    "7pm"


    "Okay CEO Sun, am hanging up"


    After saying that he hanged up.

 Chapter 47 - You are just too beautiful

    "Sun Guang''s father invited you for dinner?" Lihua asked curiously

    Lihua giggled and said "Good night hubby"

    That night, the couples slept peacefully in each other warmth.


    At Sun Family House


    "Daddy what did he say? did he reject the invitation?" Sun Guang asked curiously


    She had begged her father throughout the whole day to invite Li Cheng for dinner.


    "He didn''t reject it, so you should be ready before 7pm, this is your only chance you can use in winning his heart"


    She had plans of seducing Li Cheng so she picked out a s?xy dress.


    The dress was black in colour, it was short and transparent.


    She couldn''t wait for tomorrow. She even had thoughts of drugging Li Cheng but she killed them. If Li Cheng refused to accept her then she was going to drug him when the perfect opportunity arrive.


    The next day arrived, Sun Guang was so happy, she prepared herself the whole day for the dinner.


    She went to a beauty spar, did facial cleaning and skin treatment.

    Of course she was jealous, she wanted to be the only person who could see his charming side.


    She smiled lovingly and replied "Stop joking around, let''s go, we are almost late"


    She turned to leave but Li Cheng''s warm hands held her and he dragged her towards his body as their lips met.


    Lihua was stunned, she also wanted to kiss him. She quickly gave in.


    After some minutes, they broke the kiss to catch their breath.


    "Am jealous that someone is going to steal my wife away from me tonight. I really don''t want to take you out, you are just too beautiful" Li Cheng said in a hoarse voice as he ran his hand across her red cheeks.


    Lihua blushed deeply when she heard him. She didn''t say anything, she tiptoed and kissed him lovingly. Li Cheng gave in immediately.

 Chapter 48 - CEO Li, Mrs Li, welcome to my home

    It was 7:10pm when Li Cheng and Zhang Lihua got to the Sun''s mansion. They were 10 minutes late.


    Sun Guang was already dressed up, she was getting worried when Li Cheng hadn''t arrived.


    As she saw his car in front of their house, she retouched her makeup and ran downstairs.


    Li Cheng entered the house holding Zhang Lihua hand tightly.


    Their faces had a calm expression.


    Sun Guang was stunned when she saw the man in front her. He was so handsome in simple clothes.


    As she was about to approach him, she saw Zhang Lihua by his side.


    Her expression changed to an angry one. Why did he have to bring Lihua? Her plans of seducing him have been ruined by Lihua. She changed her expression into a happy one as she approached them.


    "CEO Li, Mrs Li, welcome to my home" She greeted with a smile to get Li Cheng attention but he walked pass her with Lihua.


    Sun Guang was already burning with anger, but she reminded herself to be calm because she wanted to put on a good impression in front of Li Cheng.


    Soon after, CEO Sun arrived at the dinning table, he was also surprised that Li Cheng brought Lihua with him


    "CEO Li, you are welcome, we weren''t expecting you to come with your wife" CEO Sun used the word ''we'' because he wanted Li Cheng to know that his daughter was also part of the dinner.


    "I came with her because this isn''t related to business" Li Cheng replied plainly


    "CEO Sun" Lihua greeted politely


    "You are welcome Mrs Li" CEO Sun turned towards Sun Guang "go and get the dishes we prepared"


    Her father had told her to before hand that she was going to serve the dishes so that she would create a good impression in front Li Cheng and she could seduce him while serving the food.


    Lihua saw the way Sun Guang dressed and laughed inwardly. She knew the father and daughter pair had other motives when they invited Li Cheng for dinner.


    Li Cheng and Lihua didn''t touch their food or drink. Lihua lost her appetite when she saw Sun Guang''s dressing and Li Cheng had a habit of not eating in other people''s home. He only accepted CEO Sun''s dinner invitation because he wanted to bring his wife along and stop Sun Guang from her ulterior motives.


    CEO Sun noticed that they haven''t touched their food.


    "CEO Li, aren''t you and your wife going to eat anything?"


    Li Cheng who had been engrossed in his phone, raised his head slightly


    "My wife and I have somewhere else to go, so we will be leaving now"


    Li Cheng and Lihua left the house before CEO Sun could stop them.
